It is lower back pain. Not tender to the touch, but moving is very painful. It just gradually worsened throughout yesterday. Maybe inflammation on both sides in the back, by not tender to the touch. I am very stiff and almost can't get out of bed. What kind of anti-inflammatory should I take? Tylenol?

There is no pain worse than back pain, I know how you are feeling as I have suffered from a chronic back problem for years, although if you didn't know me you wouldn't think so. So the advice I give you is true, honest and a result of 25 years of suffering. DON"T just lie still as this can make things worse, lie down on the floor with with your knees bent or with a pillow under your knees and practice slow deep long breathing as this well help to expand all your ribs which are connected to your spine. Bringing your knees to your chest will also help to stretch your lower back muscles. Try doing pelvic movements from side to side and up and down. An ice pack on the affected area followed by a heat pack will also help to get the blood following through the damaged muscles. The following drug is a superb muscle relaxant " Decontractyl " without any sleepiness, valium will also work. A very strong anti-inflammatory such as Diclofenac is a must. A good physio is Jeb +855889456705.

You can also try this: roll up a thick towel and place lengthwise along your spine as you lay on the floor with your legs resting up the wall, try to get your bum as close to the wall as possible.

Go see a physio asap - they can stop the pain (albeit temporarily). The Danish guy in BKK1 (recommended above) is excellent. Don't stay still, keep up and moving. Longer term, get to the gym and do some squats/deads (start light).

If my back gets worse, where do you think I should go? A good hospital or clinic? I can barely bend my back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
For some reason this thread made me think of NB's old blog entries about how he would walk down the street in Korea and sometimes violently drive his shoulder into rude Korean men who wouldn't get out of his way. Maybe there's a connection.

I don't think I could get on the floor safely; and surely couldn't get up. I will try the most exercises you mentioned the in bed. Would just talking Tylenol help ? I am not big on taking medication. I don't know if it is immamation as there is no tenderness.horace wrote:There is no pain worse than back pain, I know how you are feeling as I have suffered from a chronic back problem for years, although if you didn't know me you wouldn't think so. That's a gross distortion of what I wrote a very long time ago. And unfair. nb, get mobic, you won't regret it.
tylenol/ibuprofen have no effect for me, mobic rules!
Sounds to me like you have torn a muscle or herniated a disc

it may only be a partial herniation. try not to stress about it. it will come right. is there someone you can call to bring you some stronger painkillers and antiinflam? I'd offer if I was there, but I'm not. It sucks when on your own and needing assistance. I hope someone can help you.
Maybe the physio will come to you if you can afford to pay a little more for a housecall. today, just rest and take meds, then get mobile but only to the point you do not feel pain.

I am hurt and in a lot of pain. I am scared and alone in Cambodia. Please just leave this thread for people who have the common decency to help a stranger in need.
