Wanting to get health insurance for my family, we are all Australian and currently living in Phnom Penh full time.
Can anyone recommend an insurance company that would adequately cover us while we are living in Cambodia? Thank you for any tips
Seeking family health insurance - which one?
^ I'm in the same boat and keep meaning to do this. Interesting thread for me.
I go with A+ International insurance https://www.aplusii.com/web/eng/index.html. Mark ([email protected]) will sort out your quotes and paperwork etc.
Tips for cheaper insurance.
1. Reduce the countries you can elect to be treated in (with A+ you can get it write down to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand. As Thailand's in there, you have what you need). NB you are still covered for emergency healthcare worldwide for up to 90 days travel per year.
2. Get rid of out-patient. It's cheap in Cambodia, you don't need the insurance to cover out-patient costs.
3. Go for the highest excess/deductible you can afford. You're getting insurance to cover the disasters you can't pay for, not the small stuff that you can pay for.

Think about what you look for first. Full coverage, only in-service coverage..... Questions, questions... Also think about a deductible you can come up with in case things go bad.AMG747 wrote: Wanting to get health insurance for my family, we are all Australian and currently living in Phnom Penh full time.

At least make sure you get coverage for medivac and service abroad since anything beyond the ordinary will suck in Cambodian hospitals. If things turn more than average bad, you don't want to end up in a Phnom Penh hospital, not even in the Royal Phnom Penh.

We're with A+ and did exactly the same. Just need it for proper emergencies, so the excess is c$1K. Between my wife and I we are currently paying c $1150 per annum.
I came, I argued, I'm out
I'd like to thank everybody for their thoughts and advise, very much appreciated
