Switch to body-weight exercises.
Excellent book for that I can recommend is "Convict Conditioning" by Paul Wade.
There are three books in a series, but I'd recommend the first one to your situation.
Book has a very good progressive squatting sequence, very good for rehab. Among other things.
When it comes to body-weight exercises, these books are golden.

Here's what my doctor recommended. These exercises are meant to strengthen the muscles (mentioned above) to hold the knee in place. They worked for me but my problem was not injury but old age. I believe it's still the same treatment. From the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

OP, why don't you invest 35 USD to see a proper physio once? He / she can give you specific exercises for your knee instead of general advise.

OP, if some of these seem a step too far right now, there are a few more basic strengthening exercises you can start with. You can PM me if you want more information. They might be covered in the books referred to by TurntheCrank (I don't know them).PenhMan wrote:Here's what my doctor recommended. Thanks all for the positive advice (don't know what's wrong with 440 these days!).
I think I have found the solution. The other day someone gave me a pipe of weed. Didn't notice the problem afterwards for the first time in years.

Ron ....find a decent length pool ( 25m + ) that you can run the length in . Super lo impact on your knee and good cardio. The Phnom PEnh spots Club pool in Russian Market would be perfect for you and there is a sauna as well which would not hurt you either. Also.....lay off doggy style for a while.
Rated R for Ricecakes

I'm just happy to be able to say that I was able, in some small part, to contribute to making RobW a wee bit more depraved.horace wrote:What do you mean someone?RobW wrote:Thanks all for the positive advice (don't know what's wrong with 440 these days!).

And if he follows my fine example of yoga, puff n beer he may well be able to live a pain free life. You need all three brother.

But only the Yoga could actually be helpful long-term, eh?
Masking problems the mentioned ways leads to possible overuse of an injured area whilst masked and can easily make matters worse.
See a physio and rebuild functional muscular support for the area concerned. If a recovery's not possible and that's diagnosed, then at least there'll be an option given for best way forward that doesn't involve "spliff and a beer and fkit - it's good for now".

Ok. Pot and the pool it is. I have these waterproof MP3 headphones I found in Hong Kong. Put on the Stranglers.
Walking up and down the pool doesn't sound like the sort of thing the young studs would do; hardly something to make the peaches come on and lap me up.
Swim. That's what to do. And smoke pot from that someone person.
