That's always been the best dental practice in town, and is actually less expensive for many procedures than Roomchang.Jessb52 wrote:I've heard good things, and know many people who swear by European Dental clinic on Norodom Boulevard.

You mean Malis Dental Clinic ?TristranandIsolde wrote:Japanese dentist gal really good, located in the Hyundai Phnom Penh Tower with Eclipse Sky Bar on Monivong. Backlog of loyal clients. Interviewed her for work.
The best for value, and really cute too, is Labelle Dentist on St. 110. 092 963 194. Often booked, always sweet.

I think so. I think she's the only Japanese dentist in the Phnom Penh Tower.

Trying to find the right place to post this update.
Nasty Canasta wrote:Bumping this old post -Nasty Canasta wrote:The problem with root canal treatments is that the lay person has no idea if the job has been done properly, as I experienced recently.
I had two done at a PP dentist about 5 years ago. Recently, one of them needed attention (last lower molar). The root canal had not been done properly and there was a snapped off drill embedded in my tooth. The dentist had broken it in the root and this in turn caused the later problems. I had the choice of a filling that would almost certainly fail, or extraction. I went with extraction.
The dentist I now see in PP is as good as any that I've seen in Aust/UK, has trained in many countries including Aust and is a leading teacher here at one of the unis.
His name is Dr Sok-Chenh Chhean (Chhean), and can be found at Chhoun Meng Thmey Dental Clinic, cnr of sts 136 and 19. He has done two crowns for me (at a former clinic) and the recent extraction. Really nice guy too. I learnt of him through my wife, shé's good friends with and a customer of Chhean's mother.
The dentist mentioned has moved.
Chhean is now located at Gallery Dental Clinic, BO37, St 70, Sras Chork, 092949493. Premises are new, as is the modern equipment, dental surgery upstairs has a nice waiting room and WiFi.
He is the best dentist I've seen here by miles, trained in Taiwan, Korea, Germany, Malaysia, Australia. Chhean also teaches dentistry at two local universities and has been keynote speaker at local conferences.
In the past, I've had 2 crowns, composite fillings and an extraction done and my wife is currently getting some bridge work and two implants. He is offering the same types of implants as Roomchang, but at better prices. Wife's implants are Swiss made and he has trained with the designer.
Really nice guy too.
I gave up on Cambodia dentists in the end and got myself fixed up in Bangkok at BNH. Quick, easy and a reasonable price with an experienced dentist. And unlike Roomchang they didn't try and sell me a lot of stuff I didn't need.

Totally understand the above. Bangkok not really an option for us, so it is either here or Australia at 10 times the price.slavedog wrote:I gave up on Cambodia dentists in the end and got myself fixed up in Bangkok at BNH. Why don't you try Top One Dental Clinic. St.113
Dr. No is his name. Uses old xray equipment, but who cares. Excellent dental. Had a root canal and double crown for 150 bucks. Cleaning 10 bucks.
Although he will insist all his dentists are fully qualified ... just wait for an appointment with him. Take no substitutes ... except the teeth cleaning.
Cambodian/Chinese trained in China. Dr. No. What a name.
Don't be usin my name or batshit either. I know nothing!!!! Yer welcome.

some of you may recall my dissatisfaction with Roomchang in the past ... and subsequent AiA and wife shenanigans.
As Roomchang has changed location, facilities, and dentists since I had my incident back in 2010, I decided to use them again recently. I needed a replacement filling and a crown. I was impressed by the facilities/equipment, and by the dentist I had. I had no upselling whatsoever. I would recommend them (and have), however I do think they are pricey and would love an alternative that is just as good but costs a little less (not being charged more to pay for the building and advertising for example)

^Yeah, I think she's being economical with the tooth.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Oh really? I didn't know there were charlatans there. Lucky I didn't get yet another one then. I have his name somewhere and will update when I find it.drwahwah wrote:Violet you need to recomend the operator you had as recomending room chang is an invitation for Russian Roulette withot this vital info and it is such a large practice there are some charlatans there.violet wrote:slavedog wrote:I gave up on Cambodia dentists in the end and got myself fixed up in Bangkok at BNH. I have used Roomchang for a long time, and fairly regularly. They have performed oral surgery, bone grafts and installed some implants and crowns, and are doing work for me at the moment. The work has always been very good. While its possible that there are experience variations among dentists there, I would not be leveling the charge of charlatan.violet wrote:
