Very misleading title. If you read the article you will notice that contamination occured on an air-conditioned bus during a four hours journey.Cricket99 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 10:07 pmThe coronavirus that causes Covid-19 can linger in the air for at least 30 minutes and travel up to 4.5 metres – further than the “safe distance” advised by health authorities around the world, according to a study by a team of Chinese government epidemiologists
The length of time it lasts on the surface depends on factors such as temperature and the type of surface, for example at around 37C (98F), it can survive for two to three days on glass, fabric, metal, plastic or paper.

Yeah, I thought it had grown wings or something. As far as I know, the bit about it surviving for up to to three hours (or more) on most surfaces is accurate. It's been months now, surely someone has tested the virus on different surfaces at different temps and humidities by now.logos wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 11:35 pmVery misleading title. Why haven't governments kept people informed?
Up the workers!
Because it is a conspiracy to get rid of the boomers and older. The planet's economy can not cope with the social demand boomers and the elderly are putting on govts. worldwide. It's all about solutions, you know.

So the result of WW2 is that, rather than stamping Nazism out, we all became Nazis.
Is that why so many people are voting for Trump, Johnson, Bolsanaro, Modi, Orbán, and the Sieg Heiling dog on YouTube...

Strange yesterday SCMP write:
The analysis indicated that case numbers rose in line with average temperatures up to a peak of 8.72 degrees Celsius and then declined.
SCMP: https://www.scmp.com/news/china/science ... ank-summerThe “virus is highly sensitive to high temperature”, which could prevent it from spreading in warmer countries
Pardon my engrish, thanks you.

I heard they're calling it the Boomer Virus. But the average age of people having died from it in Italy is 80yo, so perhaps Silent Generation Virus (or whatever) may be more precise.
I can't help be a little puzzled that it is doesn't seem to be more widespread in Cambodia. On the one hand the government is trying to hide the real numbers, on the other hand the government wouldn't be able to keep an out of control epidemics under wraps even if they tried. So while I'm sure there are more than the 2 cases reported, its not many more.
Perhaps its the heat. Or a more rural based population.
To be honest, I feel much more safe for this virus in Cambodia, than in Cold EU.raendi wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 8:04 amStrange yesterday SCMP write:The analysis indicated that case numbers rose in line with average temperatures up to a peak of 8.72 degrees Celsius and then declined.SCMP: https://www.scmp.com/news/china/science ... ank-summerThe “virus is highly sensitive to high temperature”, which could prevent it from spreading in warmer countries
^ I'm also beginning to believe this hot weather theory may hold water.
After all, nobody gets the flu in summer.

.
Corona viruses are what cause the common cold. It's not the influenza virus.
Sometimes I get four colds a year.
Keep your hands in your pockets and you should be OK.
That's why I estimate right-wing business persons will be hit the hardest by this thing: they've always got their hands in other people's pockets.
