if this virus needs cold weather to survive then australia heading into winter in a couple of months is fucked
afl, nrl & the races during winter are going to be scenes of mass team inspired surgical masks designs.
good business opportunity for someone savvy enough to do it/
you can get it with your pie and coke. pie $7.50, coke $5.50, collingwood surgical mask $10

News conference ongoing at the moment. Apparently another case of an English lady has been diagnosed with the virus after arriving on a cruise Vietnam.
That is until you actually catch the virus and have to go to the hospital.
Cantankerous Curmudgeon
The English woman (and her traveling companion) are in isolation in Kampong Cham hospital !
The 34 other river cruise passengers and 30 staff are being held at the boat in Kampong Cham port!

I was in an isolation ward for a week in the Royal Free Hampstead, London nearly 20 years ago. I don't know how many they had, but they were big individual rooms with their own bathrooms. At a guess there were about 10, although I might be way off. I live near the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital, and I've seen their general wards - which are like most public hospitals here very rudimentary. A metal bed and thin mattress, bars on the windows (not mosquito screens or glass) a lot of tiles and maybe a door or not. A relation usually hangs about to sort out food and other needs as the hospital staff cannot be relied on for this. There are a couple of new modern wings, one was paid for by King Sihamoni and I believe deals with Oncology. The other is a general wing with much more modern facilities than the general wings. It is often used for wealthy criminals.
How many isolation wards they have there or in Calmette I don't know. I'm guessing very few but so far we haven't had any huge outbreak, fingers crossed.

Conversely, I know a guy ages almost 70 who swears he has never had a cold or flu in his life. or at least has never had symptoms at all.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 6:04 pm.
Corona viruses are what cause the common cold. It's not the influenza virus.
Sometimes I get four colds a year.
I often get sinus infections, but not usually from colds, but have similar symptoms

When I was teaching English in PP I used to get colds that lasted for months although the type of cold would vary. Dirty little bastards coughing n sneezing all over the place. Since I have been on the road I can only recall one bad cold/ flu episode and that was very early on in my travels after I left Saigon. Since then other than the shock of brain freeze in Morocco in December I have been relatively healthy and any colds picked up have quickly gone away.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 6:04 pm.

Keep your hands in your pockets and you should be OK.

Bloody Poms/Viets
https://cne.wtf/2020/03/10/british-tour ... -covid-19/PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Health has just announced that a 65 year old British woman who arrived in Kampong Cham on a tourist boat from Ho Chi Minh City was tested positive for COVID-19.
UPDATE: A press release stated that, at 4:30 pm on March 10, 2020, results from the Pasteur Institute of Cambodia confirmed that a 65-year-old British woman was positive for the Covid-19 virus.
The woman flew from London, England, to Hanoi, Vietnam on March 2, 2020, in a party of five people (four Britons testing negatively). Afterwards, they left for Ho Chi Minh City and from there to Phnom Penh on March 5, 2020 and arrived in Phnom Penh on March 7, 2020.
Before arriving in Phnom Penh, the person responsible for the cruise was informed that a British woman was on an aircraft on March 2, 2020, with a Vietnamese man who tested positive for Covid-19 virus in Hanoi.
Arriving in Phnom Penh on March 7, 2020, the five British were taken to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital for medical examinations and three samples were taken (two of them refused to be tested). They all claimed they were not suffering from any health problems or symptoms at all. As a result, the three tested negative and the boat then proceeded to Kampong Cham.
For clarity, the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital informed the Kompong Cham Provincial Department of Health to wait for the two other samples to be tested, and with the coordination of the ship’s manager when docking at Kampong Cham province, they were examined by the medical team and sent to the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge on 9 March. On March 10, 2020, at 4:30 pm, there was a positive result of Covid-19 in a 65-year-old British woman.
Updates to follow.
According to early reports the boat from Viking River Cruises left Vietnam on March 5 and arrived in Phnom Penh on March 7.
UPDATE: The British tourist is now in Kamong Cham Referral Hospital, and is in ‘good health’with ‘no significant symptoms’.
All affected individuals (*as yet unspecified) will be quarantined and analyzed for 14 days. Authorities have not found any evidence of infection in the wider community.
It appears the boat is now being kept off shore and all passengers confined.
Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
Not a bad translation...
I'd more carefully translate this part:
"មិនឲ្យចាកចេញមកលើគោក នៅរាជធានីភ្នំពេញឡើយ នៅពេលរង់ចាំលទ្ធផល។"
(The passengers & crew) are not allowed to disembark in Phnom Penh, & must await test results"
Khmer cut and pasted from freshnews which is a cut and paste from a Ministry of Health press release.

It could very well be, your "cold" is just a reaction from your respiration system on the PP air pollution.horace wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 9:29 pmWhen I was teaching English in PP I used to get colds that lasted for months although the type of cold would vary. When I drive around on my motobike, without such a silly surgical mask, it takes less than 2 days and I start sneezing, etc.
Junior does also have continuous complains about his nose being irritated, etc, though he refuses to wear a mask (I would do to at his age ). I did visit a Japanese doctor with him, twice, and the medicine did help a bit, though the overall diagnose was "air pollution".

Fuxake dude, you really need to get a clue on what you comment on.
