Intermittent fasting
Thinking of giving the 16/8 method a go. Eating in just an 8 hour period.
Not too difficult when you are busy at work i reckon.
Most of us don't have time to eat before work anyway.
If you believe what you hear, as well as fat loss, it's good for controlling insulin levels, increasing energy, sleeping well, muscle gain, and giving your digestive system a break.
How our ancestors ate i guess.

Give it a go, I know a number of people including me who do it. It's nice to be able to manage your hunger pains and ignore them.

I've been doing this for 2 years. It works. Before I started fasting I was catching a "cold" every 2 or 3 months. In the last 2 years, I've only been sick once, and that was last November when PP had really bad air quality, and my wife and almost everyone in her family also got sick before me. Oh, and I lost 30 kilos, but I also changed what I eat. If you want to see if it's working, get some ketone test strips. Some people may need to fast as much as 18 hours to get "large" ketosis, some as few as 14. I seem to need 15.5 hours.

Did the 16/8 all last week.
Off it on the weekend.
Easy really, when busy working, as you basically just skip breakfast, and most people can just stop eating at 9pm no problem.
Still eating the same amounts as i'm not doing it for weight loss.
I remember starting to feel unusually sluggish in Paradise sur Mer, after stuffing my face all day.
See how it go's.

I do it all the time. Mostly because I just don't like eating all the damn time, I like to run on empty now and then.
Obviously kills gym gains, but can always carb up later and fill back up.

I switched from eating what I wanted when I wanted to IF 16/8 around 2 months ago.
It started out pretty rough, I lost 4 kg in the first couple of weeks and I used to wake up in the middle of the night from hunger noises coming from my stomach. So far so good, my strength has mostly stayed the same or improved but it’s hard to thank IF for everything because I’ve been toying with almost every parameter of my routine during the same time. Now I’ve started gaining again.
I don’t use those voodoo machines for measuring body fat but I can tell in the mirror that it has decreased.
I will either stay on IF eating what I feel like or ditch IF and eat a higher protein diet. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m not seeing the supposed miracle benefits of IF that people swear by.
I think most people on IF just eat less and therefore lose weight. I will need to increase my daily fasting to see how it works for me, 16/8 may just be too little fasting to see any real benefits.

I’m 5’11 and 181 lb. Once I’m about 175 pounds was going to change to change my exercise regimen to increase muscle mass. I take protein and was going to add creatine.
The weight charts says I’m still not at ideal weight and I should go to 160’s. That feels too thin but maybe it’s because I’m American and we’re all too big.

What the hells wrong with exercise and counting carbs? Seems to work for everybody else. Are you sure it's not just an excuse to justify skipping breakfast to the Mrs because you had too much to drink the night before and that food is the last thing on your mind?

I wouldn't rely on a chart, we're all different in terms of build etc. As per Alexsndra, a mirror will show you what you need to know. Lots of big build guys who workout would be told they're overweight by a simple chart.

I've been doing the 16/8 for a couple of weeks, going to stay with it. My bodyfat was already at about 10%, but I couldn't get rid of that final little pencil roll right at the navel.(I'm a bodybuilder). The pencil is now history, getting to about 9% now. My energy levels were/are terrible, but getting better, I think due to the fasting. No bad hunger pangs. I supplement with 3 pea protein shakes plus creatine, daily. Also take NAD and resveratrol with pepper. Taking 5 grams of creatine doesn't do much, but if I increase it to 8 grams, I see a difference. I hit 70 in a few months, was determined that I'd be in the best shape of my life. Gonna hit, have already hit, that goal, hard as it is to believe. Sexy at seventy - whoda thunk? Diet and exercise, y'all - the fountain of youth. Good to see Spigzy and Felgerkarb still posting and lifting.
