Covid 19 test 72 hours before flight
Hello,
I searched the forums but due to the new outbreak, I'm not sure where to get a Covid19 test for my son and I before our flight back home. Any advice is appreciated and if you know the price, then that would be awesome.
Thanks!

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
For those who are travelling to a country with short timing restrictions in regards to the PCR test, the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge can conduct testing on site with same day results.
This is not available for everyone - only for those who require faster turn around of results due to PCR test requirements of their final destination.
You MUST make an appointment via email, and you are required to attach your flight tickets and a copy of your passport bio-page.
Costs 75$ including certificate.

Thank you for your email. We have well noted your appointment on Saturday 24 April 2021 from 7h30am to 9am.
Thank you to read carefully the email below:
If you didn’t already send us in your previous mail, thank you to send BEFORE your appointment all the information we need:
• The list of all the patients with : Last name, First name, Date of Birth, Sex, Nationality
• The complete Lab request form of Ministry of Health (Patient’s information part) (see attached) for each patient: don’t forget to mention how many times you have already been tested for COVID-19.
• Copy (picture etc…) of your Passport
You can find attached the process for your appointment, thank you to read it.
I allow myself to insist: the day of your appointment, please wear a mask and call the secretary (012 812 003) when you arrive at IPC. A secretary will come to pick you up and bring you to the sampling room. Indeed, in order to always minimize the possible risk of contamination, we prefer that patients who come for COVID screening don’t cross the other patients of the Laboratory.
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have other questions.
Best regards,
Afiny

UPDATE: I have received several messages from people who have successfully booked and/or tested at IP...it now appears it is available to anyone who books an appointment, not restricted to travellers with the need for a short turn around time for results.

I would assume that it’s an additional $75 for the fast test.
Looks to me, it's USD 75 for a PCR test, though it's not 100% explicitly stated.
Where PCR tests often take 24 hours to give results, that is merely waiting time to collect samples, transport the samples, collate again and then the testing. Add another hour for admin processing.
PCR test with result within 4 hours is certainly possible, provided an onsite lab. USD 75 including the certificate is also a reasonable price, based on the costs instead of "what somebody would be prepared to pay". The USD 30 extra for the certificate is effectively also over the top in Cambodia.
The same as USD 10 per quarantine meal, when you supply nearly 1000 meals a day. Quite over the top.

No...it is $75 for the test at Institut Pasteur. $130 at the NIPH.

And if anyone needs an authorisation letter to travel to a PCR testing facility, get your Sangkat to fill in the blanks...

This may be useful for those flying to countries which require a Rapid test conducted in a short time frame prior to departure/or arrival...

The Rapid antigen test alone isn't accepted for travel to most countries, most require PCR test.
There are however certain countries with requirements which couldn't be met for those departing from Cambodia ie. Switzerland.
Travellers to Switzerland are required to have a PCR test no more than 72hrs prior to departure, and a rapid antigen test no more than 24 hours prior to departure.
So this is good news for anyone planning on travelling to Switzerland

Hmm, I went to my Sangkat few days ago, asking to get permission for going to Covid Test. They said they can't give any written permissions, but that I should be able to just go there without problem, as there is no block in between.
Really? I'm in TK Tuek Laak 2. I don't know which district the Pasteur Institute is, but I'm pretty sure it's not Tuol Kork. Or am I wrong?
Here is a map of the path from my home to the institute:
I am confident that I can not rely on any Sangkat office etc. to help me and do their job. But maybe it is possible to get there if I am on foot? It seems the roadblocks tend to only stop vehicles. Is that correct?
I'm getting a bit worried because my test is on Saturday and my flight is on Sunday.
You do have a refundable flight or a good cancellation insurance, right?trollkotze wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 2:11 amI'm getting a bit worried because my test is on Saturday and my flight is on Sunday.
