Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom
Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom
Has anyone on this Forum ever suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom. I only recently had nightmares about things that happened more than 25 years ago. Most people i met had been in the military but ex Police and even Hospital-, Church and NGO Staff been among them. My question is how to best combat the syndrom without becoming a drug addicted vegetable.
PTSD effects anyone who’s had a traumatic experience, not just people in the public service sector.
pew, pew, pew, pew!

You had nightmares about something that happened a quarter of a century ago. Why do you think that is PTSD? It’s dreams. Big deal.
Why do we always seek to parade every little foible as a syndrome?

I had it for a couple of weeks when i first came to a small very isolated farm town in Oi'land, straight from the mad mass population of India and Bangkok.

That is not PTSD, merely a mild culture shock.that may have caused some anxiety. Bearing in mind, anxiety can be simply a resistance to a change you are undergoing, be it spiritual, psychological, physical or a medley.spitthedog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 9:34 pmI had it for a couple of weeks when i first came to a small very isolated farm town in Oi'land, straight from the mad mass population of India and Bangkok.
Before you sleep, simply make a conscious decision, tell yourself it's the past, and you're not going to dream about it. Repeat it several times. The conscious and sub-conscious processes of the brain are linked and dream-topics(during REM sleep) can be controlled this way, to a certain extent.Expatissimo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 5:00 pmHas anyone on this Forum ever suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrom.
