I'm very, very happy regulations are relaxing. And new rule kinks will, before too, too long, get worked out. Yet,...
Do the following KT numbers seem legit to you? Why fib?
KT "The Kingdom has currently been conducting four COVID-19 vaccination campaigns: for the 18 years old and up which has achieved 99.54 percent, the 12 to under 18 years old 90.33 percent, the 6 to under 12 years old 99.04 percent, and the 3rd dose or booster dose for already 1,480,747 people.
Cambodia has so far vaccinated about 85.06 percent of the total population of 16 million."
85%, could be. Over 99% of kids 6-12? So, OK, 97% of 6-12 year olds might be urban, and quite a few rural kids got vaxed too. But over 99% in a month?
Also today's KT, and probably not connected, but school students, at least in PP, no longer need to prove vax status by showing their card. Remote kids in distant 3 classroom villages, maybe they need to show theirs.
It's all happening now.
Schools need not see student vax cards.
You might want to temper your joy. Have you seen this?
"The ministry added that if any classroom recorded a positive Covid-19 infection, all students and teachers involved must go to a treatment centre or quarantine centre for 14 days, and the classroom will have to close."

There is no way I send my kids to school if this rule is actively enforced.

Why? You would prefer your kid to come home and infect you and the neighbors?YellowFlu wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:46 pmYou might want to temper your joy. Have you seen this?

Isn't quarantine the scientifically-proven and advised route?
I'm not personally in a big rush to get 'bums on seats' 1st of Nov. as the Government is now pushing for. Most parents, students, and probably most private schools aren't either. The reasons to hesitate vary group to group.
Schools are generally VERY happy to have pandemic closures and headaches in the rearview mirror, but they have been burned too many times the last 20 months to be sure this 1st Nov. reopening is the real and truly permanent one.
Students do want to see their friends, but at least half are as scared as their parents. The parents, have had a pandemic worth of news telling them to be scared, HE flipping a switch doesn't eliminate that overnight. Further, YellowFlu's concern makes perfect sense, rich kids can isolate at home more safely and in greater comfort and security than in some huge government facility.
Really, it is a bit like long haul overseas holiday travel: plenty of desire, but many potential issues still need to be worked out. Being first carries both risks and benefits, but there seems little harm in waiting a few weeks more to see what happens.

@ragtag you must have missed the sexual harassment occurring in state quarantine centers. Children without parents are easy prey. So yes, I am against sending them to state quarantine. Let them and the family self-quarantine at home once a case is detected.
Furthermore we have had the Chinese flu already (Delta) and made it through. So the chance my children get re-infected are very low hence no need for mandatory state quarantine. Simply isolate at home.
