Anyways, I wouldn't be too sure about earning potential as you have to get into a cabinet (or start your own, which isn't too easy if not already part of la familia). Also, there's always the risk of a change in government and "reforms".
More importantly, if you're going to shell out 50-60k for her "education", which in reality is only a gamble on future earning potential, then why not send her abroad for a real education? Costs are cheaper in most Western countries and she'll actually learn something. If staying here and making money is important, then I say have her do an engineering degree. Much more marketable.
Well, Engineering is a bit of an aptitude I think. Anyhow, building on this idea, which has some merit. Where can a foreigner go to get a globally recognized graduate degree that would take three years of study for $50 k? I don't see it.
The cost per semester for the Doctorate is less than 1,200 per semester. So, 6 semesters, $7,200 spread over three years. Even without being called to the bar, I am sure that this education would serve a motivated person well, in any legal research position, or perhaps some freelance legal work that doesn't require a lawyers by law.
The 'bribe' is 10,000 - $50,000. Say you have to pay $25,000. All in, less than $40,000 which you could never do in the west, without even mentioning the cost of living.
I am interested in other Degree Programs that would/could lead to a good job or income earning potential for a Khmer woman for sure and am happy to hear your ideas, as I am just thinking here.
We had thought to go to china, and send her to Medical School also, however, she doesn't have the basic sciences, so she would need to back up and do all that first, and it would be a minimum 6 years or more. (again, these are my ideas, not hers)
