Burmese Visas
I went to an agency in PP recently and they said that you have to go to embassy now. Is this true? Also what's the cost for say a week visit.

Sounds like rubbish to me - look into e-visa programme which is easy and accessible online (if you've a credit card).

I did VOA yesterday with about 10 mixed passengers (admittedly mostly Chinese) ahead of me and it took about 25 minutes, including clearing immigration with the new visa.vladimir wrote:Don't get VOA unless you like being trampled by stampeding Chinese tourists and a 2-hour wait at the airport.

Likewise. Shot-load of Chinese but we were in the car in less than 30 minutes.vladimir wrote:Don't get VOA unless you like being trampled by stampeding Chinese tourists and a 2-hour wait at the airport.

there is no voa for Myanmar;
there is a pre approved visa online, costs $50, http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/
PLUS no full page stamp
u get in the same line as those that got a visa at any embassy,
clearing immigration 2 weeks ago in Mandalay took all of 5 minutes.
In Yangon in Dec took about 10
with hand carry only was out of the airport before most had collected their luggage
