I can see the article but need to find where flights can be booked. New York mid December and return beginning Jan, the deal is great if true.
Maybe screwed by Christmas

"fare gone" on the flight deals website
Update 8/13/2016 @ 5:15AM Eastern – fare gone
Can still get it down to under $600, but will be over$700 if picking a flight without the lengthy layovers. Not worth saving $100-200 for 10+ hours of added layover.

Funny thing, I'm here because I jumped on this deal. And then your posts, gavinmac, brought me to this site. Thanks for the laughs and useful tips! I'll be there in February. I'll be happy to buy you a beer if you're there.
Oh no, somebody said the trigger word.

eh, I got NYC to Bkk last year for $720. The rub is that i'm in the deep south 6 hours from atlanta. Flying across even a small portion of my own country costs half the cost of flying to the other side of the planet. Still, it worked out to just over 1000 for the RT. And I got to spend some time with old school friends in N.J. Direct to PP WOULD be nice. Only ONCE have I seen that fare be the same as to Bkk. Usually it's at least a few hundred over the avg 1300 price.
