I've been in PP for a bit now, but am getting restless without a decent job or ladyfriend.
I'm thinking about a few weeks in Bangkok, a few in Vietnam, then maybe a week in Hong Kong (less time there because of the accommodation expense).
My question is what would be the best order to do this in? Seems like I'm closer to Saigon, but I also recall October being a nice time to be in BKK as it's rainy and "High Season" starts in November... I was there last November and didn't notice any difference, but I already had a condo.
The other thing is I'm dressed for tropical weather, and don't really want to get a bunch of new winter clothes, should I need them for Northern Vietnam or HK in the winter.
If you were me, how would you plan this trip?
Vietnam, Hong Kong or Bangkok next?

Fly up to HK. HK airlines has some cheap flights now that dragonair has lost its monopoly on the route. Get the pricey part out of the way first. Then wander over to Hanoi and down to HCM. End in Bangkok.
Not sure why you're factoring in the rainy season. It's pretty much the same weather and rainy season as here.

October rainy season in Bangkok is frustrating as hell. So many roads and sidewalks rendered impassable; worse if you're a car commuter. As soon as rain begins, taxi fares jump into flat rate territory. This is just the time of year everyone I know goes back home. The last one of my friends, all full-time BKK residents, just left. I did too, moving to my apartment outside Pattaya where the rains are not so difficult.
So, wait till November for your Bangkok visit.

Hong Kong is cold in December, don't wait to go. I bought a jacket upon arrival when I went last December.

I wouldn't call Hanoi in December 'cold.' A touch on the chilly side, perhaps, but fine with a jacket. Even Siem Reap has a few cooler days in January, when a T-shirt (sans fan) at night is necessary, but it's just a blip - or a breeze, so to speak. I was once in Zakopane (southern Poland) in January & it was -30C. That was cold.
