YANGON — Aviation giant Emirates has announced that it will commence a direct air service between Yangon and Phnom Penh, as it makes alterations to its route from Dubai.

The airline said in a statement that after traveling from Dubai to Yangon, their plane will continue to the Cambodian capital as of July 1. The route previously included Hanoi, but there will now be a separate direct route between the Vietnamese capital and Dubai, the airline said.

The flight will depart Dubai at 9:15am, arriving at 5:25pm. It will then depart Yangon at 6:55pm and arrive in Phnom Penh at 9:25pm. The return leg will depart Phnom Penh at 11:10pm, arriving in Yangon at 12:40am, departing again at 2:10am, arriving in Dubai at 5:40am.

This is good news, especially given their habit of significantly undercutting some of the usual mainstream carriers. The flights start from 1 July this year. I usually flew emirates to the UK but needed to fly to KL to start the main journey.

There were direct flights from both PP and SR to Yangon before. I flew a few times and the plane was empty every single time...

Just tried PNH - Western Europe (FRA, LHR, AMS) mid november 2017 and prices never dropped below 1000 USD pp (2 adults, one child), so far from a bargain considering the extra stop in RGN and the extra travel time involved. For the same price a flight through BKK can be had with only one stop.

This daily route has been launched, with the inaugural flight on July 1st. They had the launching party at Sofitel last night, and threw one heck of a party, certainly living up to their reputation.

The flight leaves at 23:10, with a brief touch down in Yangon before continuing onward to Dubai.
