Cheaper Airline PP to BKK Than Air Asia?
Usually there isn't, especially if you travel with hand luggage only and don't care about seating and food.
If you book on short notice and want to bring luggage sometimes Bangkok Airways is cheaper or about the same price. All other airlines are usually (a lot) more expensive.

Hey, a related matter. We are 3 people. Air Asia on the net system charges us EACH for a 20 kilo baggage. We can well do with just one 20 kilo bag between us. Is there a way to not pay the baggage charge that their system charges on EACH ticket?
Untick the box that says "20kg of luggage"?otis wrote:Hey, a related matter. We are 3 people. Air Asia on the net system charges us EACH for a 20 kilo baggage. We can well do with just one 20 kilo bag between us. Is there a way to not pay the baggage charge that their system charges on EACH ticket?
On their own booking site, if you've selected a meal/luggage 'package' when you choose the flights, luggage is preselected and can't be removed from the next page.

I went to the AA office in PP just now and they told me about that option that you have to do AFTER you do the whole fill in all yr info routine. They also told me about an additional approx $15 PER PERSON unavoidable processing charge that shows up only after all details are filled in. Crooked

Yes, all airlines charge $15-30 for online booking.otis wrote:Untick the box that says "20kg of luggage"?

The online booking form has this when you select your flight
If you select one, you can't remove luggage, only add more on the 'add on' page.
If you don't select the package, you can select no luggage on the 'add on' page after entering passenger details.
If you're at the AA office, why not just book with them?

You're booking a flight online, not traversing the Antarctica. Hundreds of thousands of people do it weekly. It's not rocket science.otis wrote:Ill be buying the ticket in about 1 week. I"ll update with my experience.
I know I'm unloveable. You don't have to tell me. I don't have much in my life, but take it - it's yours.

If you pay the hot seat extra charge you get to sit at the front of the plane (I think its the first two or three rows), you board the plane first and obviously can get off first. The first time I flew Air Asia years ago I didn't know and bought the hot seat. They made me sit in these Red seats right in front of the departure gate, separate from the rest of the passengers. Kind of felt like a tit really but sitting in the front of the plane is always better than the back.vladimir wrote:Somebody enlighten me: what is hot seat selection?

I do not know from PP to BKK, but have just returned from Bali (return trip) with Malaysia Air and a lot cheaper than Airasia. Airasia not cheap anymore.

row 1-6 ( and the two rows - i think 10-11 that are where the doors are and have extra leg room) are the Hot seats- they have the red tops on the seatsvladimir wrote:Somebody enlighten me: what is hot seat selection?
than u can "choose" other seats for 60 baht.
MY gf often fly's Phuket-DMK-PP return for less than $200
no checked bag, no meal,no insurance, no seat selection
I just flew Yangon-DMK-Phuket for only$105 and booked the ticket 2 days before I flew.
90% of the time AA is Cheapest!!
NOTE ur now restricted to 2 pieces of carry on ( one needs fit in overhead, the other under ur seat) with both combined weighing less than 7 kilos
