AirAsia has announced a new pricing scheme which will charge passengers based on how much clothing they are wearing. AirAsia spokesman Kim Hong explains that is was a natural next step for the carrier. “Having already charged passengers for checked bags, picking their seats to be next to loved ones, imposing weight limits for carry on bags, and charging for water, we were looking for additional sources of income. As every passenger needs to wear clothes, this was a no-brainer,” Kim explains.

A better one would have been to charge possible supplements by weight, say $1-5 per kg over 70, varying with the destination.
Ryanair did mention such a possibility in the future. Along with charging for toilet use.

There is one Airline that has started charging for weight though in reality it should be by BMI. 70 kilos on a 4-foot frame makes for a fat little fucker spilling into the two seats besides him whereas 70 kilos on a7-foot frame would look like a Sudanese.logos wrote:A better one would have been to charge possible supplements by weight, say $1-5 per kg over 70, varying with the destination.

The whole charging for toilet use got blown out of the water when some people mentioned to the boss that the lager louts coming back from Palma probably won't have coins handy and are liable to piss on the floor...

Michael O'Leary (CEO of Ryanair) joked that toilet paper printed with a picture of his face on every sheet would be supplied. He probably didn't follow through because, although it would be popular with customers, it would cost too much to produce.
It's easy to be annoyed at stuff like this but people should remember that it has never been cheaper to fly than today. According to this article, an economy class airfare between Perth and London would have cost you over $47,000 in 1955 if calculated in today's earnings. And of course there are hundreds of thousands of more seats and thousands more destinations to choose from.
