2 questions:
1) Possible to exit Cambodia then enter Country X sans passport?
2) Possible to do #1 with your child?
(It's a long story behind these 2 questions....)

No. If you've lost your passport or it was stolen and have already bought tickets (with the date fast approaching) your embassy can MAYBE issue a letter allowing you to travel. You do need proof of ID of course... You didn't make it clear in your other thread if it was only your children's passports which were unlock lock, or yours as well.
Not sure if the US embassy will do this here, but when it happened to me in Russia over a decade ago, my consulate made a letter and I was able to take the train (need passport to book tickets) and a flight back home with said letter.
Will you bring the children back to their mother or...?

Yes, I know someone (foreigner) who did it.
I wouldn't count on being able to do it though. It's was only for one night and was staying in a guesthouse in sight of the border before returning.

In my opinion/experience YES
i have exited Cambodia twice now driving my car at the Pailin (Ban Pakard) crossing in the past 2 years, the gate on the Cambodian side was open and i drove right thru and entered thailand, Only later to realize i was driving on the "other "side of the road and had to head back. You could also drive with some one in the back seat laying down or in the trunk, as i have NEVER had anyone look inside my car
Left at Poi pet a few days ago and it would be very easy to just walk out of Cambodia and into thailand
More than a few times back in the 80-90's i entered from overland from Boi Rai into Cambodia and also have entered by boat from trat (every time was never was stamped out of Thailand)
Of course than ur in thailand illegally and ..... So u want steal ur kid?? but how will u get him /her a passport in thailand?? and even if u were able to thru the embassy ( which i doubt) u would not have a entry stamp and would be sent to jail for illegal entry if caught or when u tried to leave.

Answer to #1 probably, answer to #2 if you can do #1 then you can #2.
You would end up in deep shit on both sides of none specified border.
I would not do it, find a better solution.

It's probably not that difficult to sneak across the borders alone, but you'd need a guide. Plenty of Cambodians get shot on sight by the Thai Border Patrol Police, so it's not recommended. Especially because I'm guessing you don't get mistaken for a local too often?
If you are asking about leaving the country with an undocumented child, whether they are yours or not, you need a reality check. You won't have a leg to stand on, and you'll mess up any chance of ever getting things right again.
You need to bite the bullet and try and reestablish some sort of amiable communication with your ex. I have no idea what the dynamics are here, whether she is nuts or you are, but it's your onus at this stage to do as best as possible to get at least a civil way of dealing with each other together. Otherwise you are going nowhere, you won't be able to get hold of any necessary papers or foreign passports etc together unless your ex is willing to help. That's the post you have to pass, let us know how you get on and don't try any silly border shenanigans.

Agreed, too many idiots come over here thinking that because they paid two bucks one time to escape a traffic fine they can do the same for more serious infractions. Not having your passport/ visa/ entry/ exit stamps is going to get you screwed sooner rather than later. I'm amazed people think they have any future trying that stupid shit.Phuket2006 wrote: Of course than ur in thailand illegally and ..... You might not need a guide, this guy sounds slightly less experienced. Plus it sounds like he'll be pushing a stroller too. WTF.Phuket2006 wrote:LL read my post, dont need a guide, Although back in the late 80-'s we did to avoid the mine fields...
