At the risk of being stoned to death while there, accosted, sold into white slavery, or contract killed by GMB or paedophile relatives, I'll be in Siem Reap Tues and Wed and I am very keen to go to the Koh Ker temples. I won't go alone though .... cost rather than fear factor.
If anyone is interested in visiting those temples on Tues or Wed, let me know asap please.
Thanks.

Then get a Tuk Tuk or cycle it. Great ride to both temples there and back in two nights.violet wrote:Yes, i would love to but am not willing to pay the return fare (SR to KK) of between 75 and 100 alone at this point. I need smeone to split the costs.Phuket2006 wrote:

I can spend the whole day there. If you go to Benge Melea, go before 09:00 as the buses will arrive then.Phuket2006 wrote:last time i went it was ONLY $5 to visit Koh Ker... 2 hours is more than enough there

I passed a hostel and I saw that they offer trips to KK at USD 55.00. Did not stop to ask what the mode of transport was. I am leaving for Vietnam tonight, otherwise it would have been a pleasure to drive you there.

Stuff this price appartite. Just because we have a paler shade of skin should not ensure we pay 200 -500 % more than the local people ..Go early or jump the fence .Imagine Khmer's paying 3 times as much as Londoners visiting the Tower of London , ,etc .

We aren't paying 200-500% more than locals - they enter for free. I'm not sure how that is expressed as a percentage.Stephen Sowten wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 10:32 pmStuff this price appartite. Anyway Koh Ker is a fantastic temple. It has an amazing shape that seems almost Mayan. Unfortunately there is no statuary left there as its remote location led to a lot of looking during the war years. It's surrounded by a vast forest and there is a great view all the way to the Dangreks from the summit.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
