I have upcoming travel throughout the region, and was wondering if I should get the online e-visas, get through a travel agent, or visa on arrival for each Myanmar and Laos. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
CM

Apply for the visa online for myanmar. Takes less than 24 hours. Have used it for my past 5 trips. Good for the 3 airports and 3 land crossings. $50
Laos visa on arrival $30-40 depending on natioality.

I got a visa before for Myanmar at the embassy in Phnom Penh, cost was $20.
This TravelFish article says it is still $20 at the embassy while mentioning the $50 e-Visa:
https://www.travelfish.org/orientation_ ... m_penh/108
But that is from Feb 2016 and I have however seen reports that the fee at the consulate in Chiang Mai is the same $50 (or equivalent), that they put it up recently to match the e-Visa, so don't know if you'd be saving anything.
Laos is very easy on arrival, no need to do anything, have a photo as Hanno says if you want save $1. And have the fee in dollars, it costs more if you pay in baht.

pus u need stand in line, travel to the embassy, etc etc,no reason to bother with that.

At least at the LP airport, the service charge is always demanded, regardless of time.
