Hi everybody,
My travel plans have changed and it looks like I will be heading from PP to thailand then back to PP to fly out about 2 weeks later. Problem is I will have overstated my Cambodian visa for 1 day. I am happy to pay the fine to exit but does anybody think I will have a problem getting back into cambodia to fly out of PP afterwards due to my overstay?
Conversely, has anybody ever flown into PP airport from Thailand or any other international flight, checked in online (with carry-on only), and just went directly to the departure terminal for a completely separate international flight without going thru security again?maybe that way I could just not leave the the airport and re-enter cambodia at all, avoiding visa issues all together?
Thank you for any input or advise, I am a first time traveler in the region.

Just to be clear, the day you fly to Thailand your visa will be expired by one day, right? If so, you just pay $10 as you exit, no problem.
It sounds like you will be flying back to PP on one ticket and then immediately flying out to an unspecified location on a separate ticket, with carry on luggage only?
In that case, when you return to Phnom Penh airport from Thailand, just to stop over in the airport, you should be able to just transit, and get your new boarding pass at the gate, and not get a new Cambodian visa, but I'm not 100% sure myself, as I've never done this in Phnom Penh. I would definitely recommend bringing print outs of your itinerary. Worst case scenario is they route you through immigration and you pay $30, but I hope you wouldn't have to do that.

Well that's a website for one airline, and it says you may need to enter Cambodia to transfer to some airlines.104 wrote:you do not need to enter Cambodia you can transit, see link below with info

I think the OP is traveling on separate tickets on separate airlines. The OP should follow the signs for transit. Carry a copy of itinerary. Try to print out boarding pass in advance for the connecting flight if possible. Argue a bit if they try to make him go through immigration. Check in at the gate. And carry $30 to pay for a visa if necessary.

yes indeed it is but i am pretty sure she will be able to transit unless she is flying with AirAsia ha ha
i am sure the best solution is for her to contact the airline to get an official answer, rather than relying on an internet forum !

Thank you for the information everybody! I fly from PP to LAX and have not booked a ticket from Bangkok to PP yet. Sounds like I should avoid AirAsia! And yes, I will check directly with the airline once I book the ticket bangkok to PP to be sure. I guess my main question is would the Cambodians give me trouble for over staying last time if I need to re enter.
Thank you again!!
Thank you again!!
