Chances of skint wastrels such as chicken, vlad and myself : zero-negative.

Miguelito is a caricature of himself who is totally out of touch with his core audience. He has no idea that bars put chits in cups, but he's right on top of the ferry schedule to Sokha hotel, Michelin-starred Bangkok restaurants, and the correct tax on a Porsche Cayenne S in Cambodia.

Obviously, he prefers high brow discussion on Khmer440, yet simultaneously permits posters to make comments about Violet and Ann Snow being raped.

What are your best recs for Bangkok? I just made reservations at Eat Me, where the bartender won Bangkok's Best Bartender award, and Gaggan (for later in June, as I've never been and always wanted to). Looking for some nice casual places though.

Galleria 10 Hotel
(Soi 10, opposite the Sofitel)

All the female staff wear French Maids costumes, the two male members of staff wear bellhop uniforms (50s style) and instead of a welcome cocktail, you get a welcome ice cream cone :-)

Rooftop pool and Bar

Damn good breakfast buffet as well.
