In order to obtain any long term Visa Extension of Stay, first you will need to apply for the E-type (Ordinary) Visa on Arrival, $35, 1x passport picture, valid for 1 month.

At least 1 week prior to your VOA expiring, take your passport and money to a visa agent and apply for the ER (Retirement) EOS (Extension of Stay). 1, 3, 6 & 12 month EOSs are available, only 6 & 12 month EOSs are valid for multiple entry. Approximate cost for a 12 mth EOS is $270 - 300 (price varies depending on the agent and geographical location).

Currently the requirements for obtain an ER EOS are;

- 55+, no supporting documentation is required to be submitted with the application.

- Under 55, supporting documentation is required. It is up to
the applicant to convince the Department of Immigration
that he/she is eligible for the ER EOS...
- Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of your stay
(No official minimum amount has been specified).
- Evidence of retirement status ie. Document confirming
that you are retired and/or receiving a pension, etc., a
statuatory declaration stating that you don't work and do
not intend to work in Cambodia.

Rules and regulations are not clearly defined in the Immigration sub-decree, and are constantly changing, but for now the above is confirmed as accurate.

PSD_Kiwi has covered it and as he stated it constantly changes.
My first 1 yr I needed no documentation. I let that one lapse and on re applying had to sign a declaration stating that you are receiving finances eg: pension. In my case I'm not yet pension age (but 55+) and can prove a steady income which I didn't have to explain or give details on the form.
$292.

What nationality is your girl? That will determine whether or not she can get an Ordinary visa upon arrival (and, in fact, the likelihood of her getting one at a Cambodian embassy abroad).

There have been cases of people under 55 getting ER Extensions of Stay (EoS) if they can prove adequate income, and as PSD Kiwi already said, there's no hard and fast number for that. If she can do that and has no plans to work here, that's the best option. She can apply for a 1-, 3-, or 6-month EG EoS, which is essentially a "looking for work" extension. To get the EB, she'll need to provide a letter of employment. The fee for the 1-year EoS, whether ER or EB, is just under $300.

No business visa then. She might get an ordinary visa at the airport and extend with an EG extension. It will provide her with 3 months (single entry) or 6 months (multi entry) to look for work. If she doesn't find work she has to leave the country and can enter again on a tourist visa. Or she can try the EG-route once more. Currently I have read no positive or negative stories from people trying that.

Visited the DOI last week, and one thing is very clear now, without paid work in Cambodia you will not be given a EB extension.

The definition of paid work is not very clear though, but for most it has to be read as working in Cambodia for a Cambodian employer. Exceptions might be made, not sure. My exception is being processed while writing this. Will report back once it's clear.

^ The exceptions are;

- Non-working (in Cambodia) Foreigners legally married in Cambodia to a Cambodian Citizen
- Non-working (in Cambodia) Dependent legal spouses and children of a Foreigner legally working in Cambodia

So they will grant spouses of Cambodians an EB 12 month multiple entry EOS? The long hoped for "spousal visa" is then a normal 12 month EOS, but without the work requirements.

From what I understood from the DOI the EB extension for foreigners legally married to a Cambodian is different from the one issued for people legally working in Cambodia for a Cambodian employer. Something with EB1 and EB2 (or another number) if I understood correctly. Also, with this visa, you are not entitled to work, can not obtain a work permit, etc etc.

It is just the standard EB EOS stamped "Employment Not Permitted".

Still no dedicated Spousal/marriage/family visa. The method of obtaining an EB EOS via marriage to a Cambodian is not included in the Immigration Prakas' or Sub-decrees...but the method of obtaining one as a non-working dependent of a legally employed foreigner is.

I have an EB and a work permit and own two MOC registered companies.

I am changing to an ER visa this year as it is just too much hassle with the EB and in reality I do not work, I employ people to do that for me.

If you do not intend to work go for the ER. As for your partner I think the repeated EG may be the way to go but I have no experience in this regard.
