A good friend of mine has been missing down the rabbit hole in Cambodia, and been totally off the radar for the last few months.
He's now finally back in touch, and also finally ready to leave Cambodia and begin getting himself back together. The problem is that he has no money and has now overstayed his visa by almost 9 months!!!
It seems that $5 per day for the 1st month, and then $6 per day after that are the penalty costs, this would total about $1600 now, but long overstays can even lead to imprisonment sometimes.
Can anyone advise what is the best way to deal with the bureaucracy there to get him out of Cambodia without being imprisioned, and also preferably without having to pay the full penalty?
I would really really appriciate any help or advise. I'm really worried about my friend. He needs to get out of Cambodia before we loose him again.
Thank you!!
9 month overstayed visa!! Friend in trouble.
