Hi

I hit 51 soon, will this make the retirement extension much more likely, or is 50 just as good?

thanks

Age doesn’t matter if you can prove retirement. Are you retired?

If aged 55+ you can apply for an ER (Retirement) Extension of Stay via a Visa Agent with no supporting documentation.

If under 55, or applying directly at the DoI Visa office, you will need to provide proof of Retirement (official or statutory declaration) and sufficient funds.

Recent reports from several people under 55 indicate that the Visa office were rather lenient on the supporting documentation criteria....but at the same time, several reputable Visa agents are reporting that the DoI are cracking down on the issuing of ER EOS's to those under 55 without an official document from their home country confirming their official Retirement status.

I'm under 65, so technically no. I have passive income to support me from a house, so yes, I no longer need to work.

I am 56 and living off monthly divorce settlement payments. Any idea how that would work?

Has anyone applied for the Retirement Visa?

If so was it easy and did you have to tell them how much money you have?

    Thanks
