Anyone have motorcycle trip plans for the Christmas season?
I have kids and kids do Christmas, so I can't do trips over a week long and better, trips of 2-4 days. Like to try that new Pursat road, Bramouy to Tmar Da and the Thai border. Maybe try to access it Moung Russei direct to Two Crocodiles, to Bramouy for overnight, then that road to Tmar Da. Then if possible (?) visit a military de-miner friend on the road north to Peam Ta, Samlout. Perhaps overnight there in Ta San, or near Angelina's pool, or Pailin. Then Battambang. Anyone interested? No set dates yet.
I'm not a particularly slow rider, but I don't have protective equipment other than a helmet so I'm careful enough if conditions warrant care. I'm riding a 250XR, but step throughs fine if that's what you've got. It isn't my country and many Khmer are happy to see expats wearing masks, so I'll do that, and distance, and hand wash.
Should be fun!
2020 Christmas Motorcycle trip plans
Yes, I know, I should post on Facebook if I think 2-4 bikes and riders might be more fun than riding alone.
But here I write.
How about a NE border ride? Follow, as much as possible, the line of the Laos and Vietnam borders from the Mekong down to, perhaps, the Prey Veng border. This ride could range from a nearly moderate 4 days (maybe 5 from Phnom Penh), to an EXTREME explorer trip, depending how enthusiastic we were on Border hugging (and of course on road conditions).
I thought I'd do this closer to Chinese New Years, but if anyone is keen, anytime before Jan 7th possible too.
