The MoH announced the ban on all outside deliveries about 4 or 5 days after my arrival. At least at LCS they had a room service menu to order decent food and drinks. Some hotels still appear to be permitting some deliveries.
arrival in cambodia during covid pandemic
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Is Phnom Penh / Cambodia starting to run out of quarantine space / hotels ?
(With the risk, the number of people entering the country is going to be limited, like in Australia)

Plenty of new hotels being used in addition to the list I compiled...many of which appear to be cheap, nasty, short time hotels. I will update the list at some stage.
Doubt theres much chance of running out of hotel space for quarantine on arrival while the strict entry requirements and restrictions remain in place.

Yep, that's for the arrivals. Worrying to hear the "hotel" standard goes down more and morePSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 2:08 pmPlenty of new hotels being used in addition to the list I compiled...many of which appear to be cheap, nasty, short time hotels. I will update the list at some stage.

Though, given the exploding number of Covid-19 infections, I would expect the Cambodian Government to claim more and more hotels as hospital replacements (and/or quarantine of locals), so yeah, some moment in time, there might come a shortage.......

Could you X-mark those hotels in the list, which might be better to be avoided, when possible ?

Arrivals don’t have a say in where they go anyway. They bring you where they bring you.

But surely there must a process involved as it a 14 day quarantine. Do they start at the top of a list ( gov ) and work their way down? For example, hotel A takes arrivals from day 1, and hotel B takes arrivals from day 2 . Hotel A is a Chinese knocking shop without tarts while B is a fairly decent place and C is where you would wanna go!
So someone arrives on 1/ 4/21 and gets hotel A which is not good but his mate arrives 2/4/21 and gets something better. Presumably, it is best to arrive 15 days after the mate.

k440, something to do when you're pissed.
Yep.
Though IF the airplane is big enough, they are going to split over 2-3 hotels, seemingly based on the Seat number. When knowing which hotels being used, just move to your preferred bus, after you got told your bus (based on your seat number). I have little double, anybody will notice in the chaos. A little disobedience, though potentially avoiding 2 weeks nightmare.

If I understand this correctly, it is now necessary to apply for a visa at your closest embassy and visas are not granted for tourism.
I have a son that's been living in Cambodia for several years now. But he is not a Cambodian national and neither is his mom. They are both living on tourist visas in Cambodia. Would it still be possible for me to be granted a visa under those circumstances?
I've also heard that government quarantine facilities are now the only option. I couldn't find much information about it on this forum except for this old thread. How are the conditions now? Are you given a room in a hotel or is it a shared space like the pictures in the old thread? Is there functional wifi and how is the food?
Appreciate any information regarding this. Thank you.
