I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
UPDATE: Appears to be a glitch in the system, currently can only select Taiwan as the "Country / region of birth". I have emailed them to advise them, let's see if it gets fixed.

As it's Taiwan and not China, you can be reasonably sure it's a glitch indeed
It actually says "Taiwan (China)"

No longer any need to get a PCR test before entering the embassy to apply for the visa, so that's a positive development.
Information received that Taiwanese passport holders have been aware that this option would be available to them for a while due to Cambodian Embassies refusals to issue visas to TW passport holders.
Possibly a loophole for the Govt to grant visas to Taiwanese pp holders without upsetting China, as China requested Cambodia back in 2019.
Will have to wait and see whether they open this up to passport holders from other countries. I have not yet received a response to email enquiries, probably will never get one.

It of course makes no sense that the Cambodian government won't issue visas to Taiwanese passport holders at embassies but will issues them from the central government as e-visas. Why would that upset China less?
It could very well be, this is a crack-down on the easy visa supplying embassies, as we've seen happening seemingly in Korea.
Everything centralized, under control, like the Cambodian government likes this to be.

Still appears that it is only going to be for Taiwanese passport holders...yet to be determined if it will ever be opened up to other Nationalities
