Maybe not as long as some but your Cambodian history is second to none and combine that with experiences and...best seller (download only).

MrB, hopefully you will make it over to Mount Kulen at some point. Recently watched a clip showing the lingams that are found there and the connection with Angkor Wat..Most fascinating.

Thanks but I'm constantly reminded how little I know either. Because of COVID I don't hang out and chat to locals so much as before either. On that topic, there's a great series of maps of Phnom Penh over the years in the SEA Globe.
This is from 1966. Does anyone know what the area that looks like a park to the west of Olympic Stadium was? It's where the Mondiale Center is now. I can just about read Officiers but the resolution isn't high enough to make out the rest.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

I understood the dike road (271) was a newish ring road. If I'm reading this map right then it was there 50 years ago?
No idea about the park.area.
Mao Blvd and St 230. That area became Parkway, a 'rec center' with pool, gym, bowling alley and shops in the main building. The rest was car park and markets. The name obviously came from a park having been there once. Not sure what is there now.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 7:50 pm

No, I meant the square park to the west, not what was a river valley to the south.

Looking at that park lettering again, the top line could be 2 words, with the second word being 'des'.
... Des
Officiers
On another map dated '73-'74, it is designated a 'University evacuation point'. Was there ever a university thereabouts in 1973/4?
