Note: The Google Lens translation isn't fantastic, there are errors in the translation. I will post the official translation once I locate.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Better translation than Google Lens...

Of all hotels, Sokha, where the current large scale community spread misery started ........
If I read correctly if you book one of those rooms and I suppose pay upfront) you don't have to provide the 2K deposit at the airport
Correct..

UK PASSPORT HOLDERS BE AWARE:
A UK passport holder who had pre-booked one of the quarantine hotels was informed on arrival last night that ALL UK passport holders are still required to quarantine at the Okay Boutique Hotel and are not permitted to stay elsewhere. The traveller was required to pay the $2k deposit on arrival, it appears they are applying this clause in the directive...

This sounds alarming, since a lot of countries do have the Delta infection rate the UK has. Thanks, Bojo.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 12:16 pmUK PASSPORT HOLDERS BE AWARE:

On the other hand, the Okay Boutique Hotel does not look that bad to me. IF it would be an ASQ option, I might choose this hotel.

There is no logic in the whole segregation of UK passport holders anyway...their whole reason for doing so in the first place was due to the high rates of the Alpha variant in the UK. But...
- they are aren't segregating passengers who have travelled FROM the UK on a non-UK passport,
- they are segregating UK passport holders who haven't even been in the UK within the 14 days prior to arrival,
- UK passport holders are still travelling on the same planes as everyone else
It is a pointless exercise, but it does however work in the favour of UK passport holders, as the Okay Boutique is one of the best hotels to be quarantined at.

I would not be surprised, when the British Embassy is behind this. Suggesting to Cambodian Health government to be "tough" and take care to get all UK passport holders to go to a specific hotel, with some lobbying to the Okay hotel

I would be stunned if the British Embassy had anything at all to do with this. This is based upon dealing with them over 15 years in Cambodia and observing their interest in helping/supporting Brits here.
CTRL-C, CTRL-V
‘Sorry we do not provide that service’
They are quick to self-praise anything done to help Brits here, even if it wasn’t them that did it. So if they were involved in it, then they wouldn’t be hold themselves back from public self congratulations.

Ehhh, yes, I did not want to write that, though they travel themselves too. And not all staff would be diplomatic and, as such, end up at a random (excellent) China run hotel.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Thu Jul 29, 2021 8:23 amI would be stunned if the British Embassy had anything at all to do with this.
