Over the past few months I have received several messages from Air Asia advising that my points will expire and I should use them to book an upcoming flight.
WTF !!!
You cannot book a flight with them as their are no longer any published flights to and from OZ.
Given the current travel restrictions, it would be nice for them to place a suspension on points expiring, but No !, I guess they are happy to wipe off the debt because you failed to book a flight.
Hopefully in the next 12-18 months international travel will become much less complicated, but by the time it happens my stash of frequent flyer points will of expired.
Such is Life.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

International flight will never be normal again just like after 9/11.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
Not sure, whether that is possible with AirAsia, though you might be able to book tickets for other people. Or just buy some fidget things from their webshop as presents for others in shipping reach.scoffer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:24 pmOver the past few months I have received several messages from Air Asia advising that my points will expire and I should use them to book an upcoming flight.

And, yep, for the rest, points are gone. With CX (and probably many other proper airlines), you would have reinstatement options.

I’ve had thousands of frequent flyer points with several airlines but probably all expired now. When I tried to use them there were so many restrictions/taxes/additional costs that it was always more convenient or cheaper to book elsewhere without them. The only benefit i ever took up (I think) was lounge access.
Have others actually got much benefit from air miles/points?
