Going into quarantine after flight in
Hello, has anyone been in touch with people who have come in within the last few months.
I'm wondering if they still quarantine everyone on the plane if one person tests positive for covid on the flight or if they only quarantine the one person who has covid?
This is the only rule that is preventing me from just coming back or trying to asap.

Everyone is quarantined for two weeks regardless.

Since November 17th 2020, it is mandatory 14 days monitored quarantine, no more self quarantine after all pax test negative. Plenty of threads about this, and if you are on farcebook you can check the following groups for the most comprehensive, current and accurate information and advice on current entry requirements and restrictions and peoples quarantine experiences;
- Cambodia Visa and Work Permit group
- Cambodia Quarantine Experience group
The only exception is for A-type (Diplomatic) Visa holders who are permitted to self-quarantine at an Embassy residence approved by the MoH.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Okay great thanks, maybe I'll just need to do the 14 days climbing up walls.
Perhaps things will change by New Year.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
2023 will be a bumper year for Cambodia.

14 days could become even longer with some luck...
Last week our street was blocked for two days. The reason was the quarantine hotel in our street detected guests with the Delta variant. They tried to swap-test the whole street despite guests being unable to leave the hotel. So most houses did the sensible thing: refuse to open the door. In the end they only tested guards outside and some restaurants. All negative. At least 17 out of 40 hotel guests were transferred to a Delta specific treatment facility.
Saw a busload of new guests come in yesterday. I hope the for a different response this time. But just in case I have a bug out bag ready...

Can anyone with knowledge confirm the quarantine is:
$84 x 14 nights
$200 x 2 covid tests
$5 - bus to hotel
I'm not on Facebook and it's hard to find any information, but I'll check through all the posts on here.
Also can you apply for a visa at any Cambodia embassy or is it only home country?

There's also a daily security fee and a medical fee.
And $30 a day for food unless you opt out and some hotels don't let you opt out.
And it may be 15-17 days in quarantine because there are sometimes delays in getting the COVID results to clear you. You pay for the extra days.
Hotels don't manage the deposit funds, you collect your refund from the bank you made the deposit with upon arrival.
The hotel receipt will list the room charges, meal charges and any additional charges such as laundry if utilised... Ensure you ask for the hotel receipt upon check-out so that you can check they haven't charged you for anything they shouldn't have, do not sign any check-out documents until you have done so. Keep this and take with you to the bank in order to dispute any charges (ie. meals that you opted out of) (Note: Many people have reported their hotels not willing to issue the receipt, insist, or at least insist on them clarifying what you are being charged).
You will need the blue deposit slip you received from the bank you made the deposit with, and your passport in order to claim the unused portion of your deposit.
Your refund of the unused portion of your deposit is usually available from 5-7 business days following your release from quarantine. The bank will hold onto your funds for up to 12 months, so there is no rush to claim your refund.
If in PP your refund should be collected at the main branches (addresses are on the back of the deposit receipt, example below, which you need to keep safe), refund can also be collected from the Kampot, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, Battambang branches of the relevant bank.
When you collect your refund, the bank should provide you with an itemised receipt. People have reported that Acleda refuse to issue this, CAB and Canadia Banks do. (Example below from CAB).
You will be charged the following by the hotel (deducted from your deposit, $1400 max, any extra needs to be paid directly to the hotel);
- Room rate x number of nights spent in quarantine (this can vary, depending on time it takes for 2nd test results to be released, and whether someone from your flight in the same hotel tests positive on 2nd test)
- Meals @$30 per day (depending on hotel and whether you can opt out of the mandatory meals)
- Laundry (if applicable)
-
The below costs are fixed, these will be on the receipt you receive from the bank, not the hotel;
- PCR Test x2 (min) @$100 ea
- Transport @$5
- Med Staff @$6 p/d
- Security @$3 p/d
- Bank Fee @$30

Good write-up.
As long as the MoH did not claim the money, the bank does not pay out.
They also tend to have the "release" documents only available in the afternoon and as such do charge you a late-check-out fee. As well as all the meals for that day.
Yep, but IF you don't sign, you won't get your passport back and they simply not check you out, and you can sit at the counter, until you give up.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:04 pm.....

The color depends on your bank, mine was more or less "white", with the "golden" Canadia bank letters. This "throw-away" looking paper is pretty valuable.....
Actually, I did have to wait some 6-8 weeks, might be due to lock-downs in place.

With Canadia you can get, though they do have to ask the main office for that (takes a couple of days extra).
Hotels have the sneaky habit to force you to sign whatever they want you to do, see above.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 3:04 pmYou will be charged the following by the hotel (deducted from your deposit, $1400 max, any extra needs to be paid directly to the hotel);

v12 , obviously experiences will differ...I have been through quarantine in Cambodia 4 times now so the info I have posted is based on those 4 experiences, combined with the experiences reported by others.
Not sure why you ended up waiting 6 -8 weeks, sounds like a major fuck up there, I got my last one after 7 days, that was also during "lockdown".
Hotels cannot release guests until they have been given authorisation to do so by the MoH, there may be some dodgy hotels releasing guests later to try and charge extra, but the times I was released later I was not charged any extra, maybe I have just been lucky.

Yeah, I certainly believe you, though my experience shows, at least one hotel makes a business out of delays and extra charges. Things like a USD 30 late check-out fee, for a 13:00 check-out, etc.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 7:15 pm@v12 , obviously experiences will differ...I have been through quarantine in Cambodia 4 times now so the info I have posted is based on those 4 experiences, combined with the experiences reported by others.

With a quarantine release just at the beginning of the first major lock-down, which may have made things difficult, as well the dependency on the hotel much higher.
On the other hand, the hotel itself, its facilities were excellent, Internet really fast (Until a lightning strike, and they had switched back to their old ISP), bed perfect, good meals, Staff nice and help-full.
So, I certainly consider an ASQ to avoid ending up somewhere less decent. Town View hotel for USD 50 / night with limited hot water, slow Internet, disappointing food, etc. The most positive item of that hotel were the maids, coming in 4, just to bring me the meals, glowing eyes and having a lot of fun, maybe visiting a zoo or so. No idea why, being an old and not so muscular person......
