I'm planning to visit for an extended stay this Spring. One of the main draws is all the French and other restaurants in Phnom Phen. Did a lot of those succumb to the recent situation and low tourist numbers? Are there still plenty of good options to sample the local cuisine? I'm interested in all cuisines from local Khmer to Western to French to other ethnicities.
I've been following this forum for a very long time and eager to experience the magic in person!
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I would choose any neighboring country over Cambodia if you are a foody. Some places have closed due to the pandemic. But overall it is not too bad. Local cuisine is nothing to get me thrilled about. Make sure you have a decent medical insurance if you want to venture into "streetfood". Not as tasty and clean as Thai
The Burger King on the Riverside has closed, permanently it appears.

Restaurants? They haven’t existed since 2019, we all scavenge from the streets now. It’s like Mad Max here.

If he brings a fishing rod he'll be ok. Plenty of maggots available locally, that's a plus.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:00 pmRestaurants? They haven’t existed since 2019, we all scavenge from the streets now. It’s like Mad Max here.
