Unplanned travel needs your help
I have booked Flights but have not investigated places to stay.
Need accommodation for two adults and 1 child, arriving in 48 hrs.
Any suggestions on where to stay for 5 nights ?

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Don't ask me, I booked a hotel that looked fantastic & I figured was around all the other amazing hotels in the Kuta/airport sort of area. Turns out Menjangan Dynasty Resort whilst stunning, is a good 5-6 hour drive on suicidal roads at night during a public holiday ...
You might want to throw in location/rough budget for suggestions.

I never understand these threads. It’s like the internet hasn’t been invented.
Surely only scoffer knows what he likes and his budget: all he has to do is go to a booking site, look for a place, check the reviews, click the map for location etc.
It’s not rocket science.

Jump on booking.com or agoda.com, input dates, location and use the filters to select what you want.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Have you forgotten scoffer’s true nature?
He’ll end up booking something for two years from now that’s located in his local suburb in Australia.

Don’t go any further away from the airport than Legian . The traffic is horrendous. If you’re cashed up then the Padma Legian is excellent. Plenty of places to stay around the Padma that are cheaper though . Don’t go anywhere near Canguu you will regret it . Take my advice go to a place in Legian that’s near the Y Bar and all should be good .

There are plenty of Aussie flophouses in Kuta!
No but seriously the Hotel Jayakarta in Legian is a famous landmark right on the beautiful beach and even more beautiful sunsets, pool is full of young Aussies partying in daytime so Hell for anyone not from there! :

Thanks for the replies,
We fly out in the early hours tomorrow, it was a rush job and I did not have much time to investigate where to stay.

So, would love to hear the outcome.
Hoping the family didn’t end up sleeping in the airport or on the beach

Just how bad is the traffic there? I've heard it's like central Bangkok, all the time.
I was last there slap in the middle of covid, and obviously it was a pleasure to get around. Hard to imagine one long traffic jam.
The coastal plastic problem, however, was unimaginably awful - though I suppose they weren't clearing it much at the time.

Took us 90 min in a car to go from Canguu. to Legian which is about 12 km . Can easily get caught in a moto traffic jam also around the streets of Canguu which is a place best avoided unless you’re interested in beach clubs and enjoy being surrounded by influencersRobW wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 10:57 amJust how bad is the traffic there?
