I don't think people can attach a CV to a private message. Unless, I guess, if someone uploaded the CV online and sent you the link. It might be better to leave an email address. Otherwise, what people can do is cut and paste text from their CV into a private message, but it will probably end up looking garbled and unprofessional.NGOposition wrote: Please send a private message with your CV. Of course, only full fledged forum members can do that, there may be qualified applicants who are "lurkers" and who might not want to suffer the indignity of signing up for Khmer440 in order to apply. Or, there may be forum members who would want to apply but don't want to have to "out" themselves by sending a real CV using their K440 forum account, which might have a photo of two large boobs as an avatar.
I think if you want to solicit CVs, you should leave an email address so that people can apply independent of Khmer440.
Also, if you're going to go through the trouble of logging in and checking for private messages, why take the position that "Replies to this posts won't be checked." That's weird.

Because it's a copy and paste from a Facebook post, and someone didn't think about the different channel.gavinmac wrote:Also, if you're going to go through the trouble of logging in and checking for private messages, why take the position that "Replies to this posts won't be checked." That's weird.

Oh, I figured the OP just wanted to pre-empt the expected dickish K440 comments by announcing that he/she wouldn't read them.vladimir wrote:Because it's a copy and paste from a Facebook post, and someone didn't think about the different channel.gavinmac wrote:Also, if you're going to go through the trouble of logging in and checking for private messages, why take the position that "Replies to this posts won't be checked." I saw this job advertisement printed on a piece of A4 paper with contact details on tear off tabs posted on the wall of the mens toilets in Blue Dog this afternoon. The email address to send CVs to is [email protected]
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
I'm assuming it's open to foreigners to apply for considering it is been advertised on an expat oriented forum and in a backpackers bar.

I figured you were joking about the blue dog thing?PSD_Kiwi wrote:I'm assuming it's open to foreigners to apply for considering it is been advertised on an expat oriented forum and in a backpackers bar.
It doesn't read as particularly a complicated job that would/should exclude Khmer, especially considering they seem to regularly need translations (assuming KH>EN).
Haha, nope I was being dead serious about it being posted on the wall of the mens toilets of Blue Dog. Surely it must be open to locals to apply for. Odd that the email address to send resumes to is a gmail account though, I would've thought an established NGO would have a proper email provider?
