Potential Careers
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to express my interest on starting a career in Cambodia. I have been staying in Cambodia for the last 9 months and decided I'd like to stay.
I'm a 24 year old male.
I'm a veteran with the Canadian Armed Forces.
I have my degree in Psychology (bachelor of science, not arts)
I have my e-Mett certificate ( A program founded my Dr. Paul Ekman on micro expressions)
I was a foreman for Halliburton Canada.
I do have a C/V that I'd be able to send any interested parties.
My requirements, depending on the work. Minimum salary of $1200, weekends off, and paid holidays.
If any one if interested, or can point me in a good direction that would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

You should contact and register your CV with local recruitment agencies, also check local recruitment websites.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Degree in psychology? Have a look at that bscw thread and do a paper on it- could be a money spinner!
Same as PSD suggested; lob your cv at local recruitment firms; hrinc if they're still going I seem to recall having more than most for expats. I wouldn't be afraid to branch into something outside your field of expertise either- as an ex-military man you've probably got very decent leadership skills (even at a young age) that would work well in some management roles that just involve ensuring a local team has some discipline and structure to their work under the supervision of a westerner; even Khmer owners don't always trust Khmer managers and will pay more for a westerner.
Beyond that, try to get along to some of the networking events in town, B2B, Phnom Penh Post and others throw these together; can't say I attend much myself any longer, but judging from some of the FB Posts these have been getting some decent turn outs. It's who you know, not what you know, so build your contacts and see what they turn up too.
Good luck

Nothing against anyone who "teaches" English, but I'm more ambitious than that.gavinmac wrote:Just accept your fate and drop off your CV at Beltei.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Depending on the work. I do not wish to be rich, only comfortable. I am not stuck here like many expats. I am not stupid enough to burn my bridges.
