I'm thinking of signing up for the ninja teacher course where i can acquire my TEFL in Cambodia over a duration of 1 month + receive a guaranteed job supposedly.
Has anyone taken this course before? if so is it worth it? (the total cost is $1599)
Will i actually be guaranteed a job? (i don't have a degree so my only credential will be my TEFL from the course)

Sounds pretty pricey to me. You can't be any worse than the guy hired by my big boss last month if you:
*have no qualifications whatsoever
*speak in an unintelligible regional sccent
*have anger mangement issues
*have a chip on your shoulder
*possess alcohol problems
*are white skinned
Then getting a 'guaranteed job' is not that tough. I've just saved you $1600.

You are referring to the organisation associated with PUC?
Yeah, I did it. I chose it as it included some khmer lessons. I later went on to do a 'proper' course, the CELTA.

You can get TEFL for $250..and you don't even need that to require a English teaching job in Cambodia..

awesome thanks alot for all the replies, im still thinking about it.
I will undoubtedly be getting a TEFL of some sort to gain confidence in my teaching ability, perhaps a more affordable course is a better aproach

For that price, you should be looking at the CELTA course which compared to a TESOL Certificate (like mine; American TESOL Institute which cost $330 and was well set up with accreditations in the US, legit ones), is like comparing Harvard to Kindergarten. Again, I have the Kindergarten TESOL for now, so no offense meant.
I would highly recommend you not pay that much for any TESOL Course. ATI has a resident course in Thailand I believe and it's pricey as well.
Online self paced TESOL for $300 and that meets or exceeds the requirement in a the entry level/low end jobs.
If this is a real career for you, then CELTA is really worth looking at. I might do it myself even though this is a retirement thing for me to help me see the world a bit more without the 18hr days, but something to keep me out of the bars by noon (or earlier).
Hope that helps you a little information wise. Naturally, the decisions are yours alone and none of my business, but I do wish you luck.
Have a good one.
PS: I was a military instructor, rusty as it may be, there was a month long course, plus a long train up before they would ever consider sending you. If only doing TESOL, I would absolutely google some instructor certification training. I found powerpoints from the military online for free just to refresh my memory.

PS: Would you rather present a CV with a Certificate that says:
Ninja Teacher TESOL for 1500USD in Cambodia
or
American TESOL Institute which is accredited in the US (check it's filings online VA, FL etc) for $300?
Good Luck. I remember seeing the ads for that place after thinking about it and it really is named that. LOL.

CELTA is offered now in Cambodia for $1700. It is worth the extra bucks to just get the CELTA. It is being offer 3-4 times per year through ACE in Siem Reap. I just graduated from the last class. The next one starts up in February I believe.
It's been my experience that if you have a TEFL cert rather than a CELTA, then what the school is mostly interested in is how many hours the cert is for. There are lots of providers, some better than others, but I haven't found that it matters much who you get it from. That said, I'd feel a little silly getting a cert from anywhere with the word Ninja in it.
Here's a groupon for a 160 hour course, from $315 to $39 (I haven't taken it and know only the price):
