Fish for fish and chips
Fish for fish and chips
I'm going to be making fish and chips UK style, with tartar sauce
Cod and haddock are the most common choices
Are there similar fish species available at the market? What are their names in Khmer, please?
Photos would be useful.
Any tips, names of suppliers welcome.

Pangasius or Basa is a fish I will not touch. I worked for a few years in Chau Doc, center of Basa farming. Absolutely disgusting!

And Snakehead just tastes like crap.

Chhnoht maybe??
Got some fillets in the freezer from the Asia shop as the wife don't like "fishy" sea fishy, "You Buster".
I know it's pronounced Tub Tim in Thai.
I have sometimes wondered whether a Tilapia farm could be a good business idea, as they can be mostly herbivores, and I read on dee interwebs that you can feed them with plants grown.
Still gotta pump all that water, if you don't have a pond, I guess though.
I digress..

Although you could say exactly the same thing about salmon.
One of the food health programs on Netflix really go's into all of those problems with farmed salmon.
The thing about health is that it's all about money, so you can find one article saying its shite, and the other that it's the best.
