Postal Rates - Parcels
Does anyone have price listings for small parcel deliveries to the rest of the word from Cambodia?
I have the details from the post office and I've got the EMS list.
The post office quotes $12.50 for a 500g parcel to the US, and EMS wants $35 for the same.
Are there any other reasonably priced companies operating from here?

Guess it depends if you want to make sure your parcel actually arrives at destination.... Depends on average weight as well. I think the post office was quite more expensive than EMS for registered parcels last time I checked.
I never found a cheap and safe way of sending stuff out. I use Linehaul express on a regular basis. They act as a co-loader for DHL so your parcel is actually sent through DHL, delivered by DHL guys and you get the tracking number as well. But all that for 5 times cheaper than going through DHL directly (which shows how much money they're making).
Price to US (and most of the world) is about 33 USD for first kilo (or 28 USD for first half kilo) + 7 USD for each additional half kilo. With parcels between 1kg and 2kg, this is the cheapest I've found.

Ahh, ok. Linehaul is RPX.
I've used RPX before, years ago - I'd no idea they were still operating.
Thanks for that... looks like their prices haven't changed much, but they've added tracking facilities.
Any other airline carriers here?

I guess this is kind obvious but I've lived over 20 years in SEA and I always found it best to give stuff to a guy who was on holiday and returning.
I'd give him the Aussie postage and buy him a beer or two.

12.50 for 500g? I checked in SR and got quoted $18 for the same weight. I want to send something that weighs very little, maybe 300 grams.
I find for letters and postcards from SE Asia, its quicker to roll up, put into a bottle, cork it and throw it in the ocean.
The charges board inside the PO in Phnom Penh... the whole international small packets section looks like a clusterfk.
I've no idea why there are 2 columns for the prices, can anyone read the Khmer in the column headers?
US prices
100g = 8,000 / 15.400
500g = 62,080 / 69.960
1000g = 113,920 / 35.920
Looks like I got the $12.50 for 500g wrong myself, there... wtf? Closer to $15.50, or whatever 69.960 means.

Seems the first column is for "perfect close" and the second is "not perfect close" ????? Didn't know you could send boxes that were not properly closed... or they charge you for closing it themselves. BTW, I guess the 1kg line misses a 1 before the 35
Thanks for that.
No idea what they mean either... maybe a packaging charge?

above massage is does't correct the correct postal price have to be like this email. I'd work in kumpot post ffice in year 2008. mail & papers sard with 400khr, parcel weight not over 1 kg stard form 3000khr and add 2000khr every 1 kg. ems weight 20g not over 1 kg star form 10000khr and add 2500khr every 0.5 kg. but i'm not sure now do we still use this price have to check with post office again.
Looks like I'll be catching a return bus to Kampot to post parcels - it'll be cheaper, even considering the bus fare.
Everyone is doing it.Chuangt2u wrote:Looks like I'll be catching a return bus to Kampot to post parcels - it'll be cheaper, even considering the bus fare.
