I came into Cambodia on a business Visa a week ago. Struggling to find work before Christmas so I was thinking about heading back to Thailand for a month then coming back.
My business visa is only a month so will have expired by then, do I renew it before I go or can I just get a new one when I come back in?

The one you have is most likely single entry. You can get a multiple entry visa if you extend it for several months (not sure what the minimum limit is before they will make it multiple entry). Then you can come and go as you please. But on a single entry, once you leave it is no longer valid, regardless of how long it was originally valid for.
I was told there would be cake.
Minimum 6 months to be multiple entry.ChicagoGuy wrote:The one you have is most likely single entry. As above.
You've got a 1 month visa. It's extendable by 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.
6 and 12 month extensions are multi entry.

Fair enough, but why would you go back to Thailand when you could further explore Cambodia and better get to know the country you are going to be working in?

Shhh Indeed. Obviously, this person has extolled all resources in her intensive hunt for jobs, and did not manage to find any in the huge timeframe she set herself. It's unfortunate, but realistic to cease the search and head to other coasts.hanky wrote:Typhoon wrote:hanac2001 wrote:I came into Cambodia on a business Visa a week ago. Now where can she find a job in less than an hour, as she should with her qualifications?
The topic or post you are looking for does not exist.
I think she just had bad timing. Schools are full of teachers at this very moment, but..... Many native speakers are heading out this week for the holidays and they will be short handed. Now is the best time to snag a job u're not qualified for because they need somebody in a classroom!Sok Poupe wrote:Shhh Indeed. I actually was going to come back to enrol in Language Corps Asia, a programme that will give me a TEFL qualification plus focus on Khmer language, cultural orientation plus trips to SiemReap and Angkor Wat, Sihanoukville. The last two weeks focus on Khmer Language and Cultural Orientation, Teaching Practice and classes in lesson planning and materials development on a daily basis to help get me ready for class.
After reading and researching the last four weeks, along with being in Cambodia a week, I thought this the most sensible option....

U researched over the last few weeks, and the best plan u came up with is to take a LanguageCORPS tefl? All the extra crap they throw in there is worthless and over priced, and most schools, ESPECIALLY here IN Cambodia, know u wasted a lot of time visiting temples and taking Khmet lessons that cost $2 an hour, and teaching at random schools for free while LangCorps convinces u it's "practice."hanac2001 wrote:I actually was going to come back to enrol in Language Corps Asia, a programme that will give me a TEFL qualification plus focus on Khmer language, cultural orientation plus trips to SiemReap and Angkor Wat, Sihanoukville. How much is it? Get a CELTA for cheaper, but worth more.
LangCorps us for people who DON'T do any research and take the first tefl course that google throws in ur face!

It's actually the silliest option. If you're serious, do the Celta.hanac2001 wrote:I actually was going to come back to enrol in Language Corps Asia, a programme that will give me a TEFL qualification plus focus on Khmer language, cultural orientation plus trips to SiemReap and Angkor Wat, Sihanoukville. There are still some vacancies around. Have you tried camhr.com, bongthom.com and I'm sure there others as well as handing your cv out at schools?
