Will I get used to the heat after living here for a while ?
You never get used to it. But............living here is well worth the discomfort.

I haven't used aircon at home in years. Drink lots of Sting/Samurai/Beer.

It is not actually the heat that is killing you as much as the high humidity.
38degC, or 100F is actually quite pleasant in a dry heat. I used to find it very tolerable in Las vegas, however over 113Deg F it was just too hot, no matter how dry the heat.
Whereas in Orlando I found 85F, (only a 29C) very oppressive with the nearly 95% humidity .I dislike the Coastal Southern USA in Summer for this reason.
The same is true between Melbourne and Sydney. Melbourne has a dry heat and 32Cis quite pleasant, but in Sydney in Feb, with high humidity it is miserable.

No you will not really get used to it.

As others have said, keep your fluid levels up, drink beer!

I think others have already said it/alluded to it, but what I should have mentioned in my first post is: definitely limit your use of aircon. If you're using it constantly, you will never acclimatise.
I have a fan in every room of my flat and one on my balcony. I only use aircon for a couple of hours a day at most while working, and not every day at that. I have it set at 29-degrees Celsiuis, and find that plenty cool enough. I did use aircon for about two weeks to sleep at night, but intuitively felt that it wasn't the best for my thermoregualtion and I got sick of occasionally waking up in the wee hours feeling cold.
I live a few floors up, so I get good breezes. If you haven't rented an apartment yet, defo look for something a few floors up - at least 2 or more.
As far as eating goes, maybe emphasise cooling foods in your daily diet for the next month or so. Cooling (yin) foods (this is Traditional Chinese Medicine theory) are:
cucumbers, yoghurt, banana, pineapple, grapefruit, star fruit, sugar cane, water chestnut, watermelon, salt, seaweed, barley, bean curd, chicken egg white, marjoram, crab, oyster, peppermint, radish, broccoli, lotus root, lettuce, cauliflower, zucchini, corn, tomatoes, turmeric.
And perhaps go easy on some of the heating (yang) foods:
pepper, cinnamon, ginger, clove, coriander, garlic, sweet basil, rosemary, nutmeg, shallots, spring onion, soybean oil, dillseed, red and green pepper, chicken, ham, shrimp, eel, brown sugar, coconut (*I'd personally make an exception for coconut water for reasons mentioned earlier), coffee, tobacco, dates, green onion, guava, leaf mustard, leek, longan, mutton, peach, raspberry, spearmint, vinegar, walnut, jackfruit, durian, leek, blackberries, black currant, mangoes, cherry, mandarin orange, grapes.
And....classic signs of dehydration/excess heat in the body are constipation and poo that comes out in pellets or has 'cracks' in it. Keep tabs on your poo and eat/drink accordingly. Bear in mind that some medications and supplements can have an effect on the appearance, etc. of your poo.

well, in my experience it certainly got a lot more comfortable with time. When I first arrived I embarrassingly sweat from my head... after about six months I sweat on my forearms and my hair stayed dry. Odd how the body adapted. For a period of time used to walk most places rather than taking motos or tuk tuks (or driving). There were still the hot months when I sat with my feet in a bucket of crushed ice to keep cool though (no air con at the time).
