Price of beer
Beer inflation is one of the hardest things a guy has to deal with... One of the reasons I left England was the 50% increase between 2008 and 2011...
I have been drinking anchor for the last 2 years, I used to pay 10.50 for a crate but I'm hard pressed to find it for less than 12/12.50 recently. It seems like the kny price hikes have become permanent. I tried switching to klang @ 8 bucks and 6%, but it made me want to go out and fight the Tuk Tuk drivers and then insist on bareback sex at my local 10k riel knocking shop.
What are you guys payin for beer? Where can I get beer cheap? Please help...

Still 11$ or so in the countryside. Get a tuktuk to drive you to Kompong Chnang or some other place outside of town, stock up on 10-20 cases and when taking into account his fee, you might be able to save whopping 5$ or so.
You travelled 10 000km and settled down in a foreign country because beer was cheaper that in your homeland ?
7% inflation/year in Cambodia that brings a 10,50$ tag to 11,25$ and 12$ the second year.
Why don't you drink water ?

Complaining about USD 12.00 for a slab of beer!!!!! That gets you about two beers in Oz and one in Dubai. Get real, as someone else said: beer is way too cheap here.

I get 10.50 Anchor slabs from a little bottle shop down st.172, betweem st.19 and st.13...can't remember the name sorry, but I have found most of the 'hole in the wall' bottle shops are reasonably priced.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
I thought most of the expats that landed on Cambodian shores did so because they heard the beer was cheap ?OSS 117 wrote:You travelled 10 000km and settled down in a foreign country because beer was cheaper that in your homeland ?
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

It's good to hear there are still shops selling beer for a reasonable price. 2 dollars isn't a lot of money, but it all adds up when you drink a lot.
Looks perfectly logical to me.scoffer wrote:I thought most of the expats that landed on Cambodian shores did so because they heard the beer was cheap ?OSS 117 wrote:You travelled 10 000km and settled down in a foreign country because beer was cheaper that in your homeland ?
