Private Investigator
Hello, I hope someone can help me.
I need to trace a Khmer person who I believe is located in Phnom Penh.
I have their name, a photo (a few years old) and an address, which is a few years old now and may not be the current address.
It is probably a job for a Khmer person with a bit of discretion.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction and give me contact details of someone who they feel could help?
With thanks
PatrickJane
Which bar did she work at?
Not a bar girl, just a normal person, so I doubt you would know them.
And what does your question have to do with helping me?

No not a photo from an id card or similar and discretion is required.

Here's the Facebook page of an outfit called "Phnom Penh Investigations." Great "case studies."
https://www.facebook.com/phnompenhinvestigations
https://www.facebook.com/phnompenhinvestigations
Case Study:
Client: German national suspected his Khmer girlfriend was still working at her old bar on St. 104 as she was often unreachable at night time.
Results: The girlfriend was in fact not working on St. 104 any more. However, further investigation revealed she had a live-in Khmer boyfriend who was staying at the apartment her (German) boyfriend was paying for each month.
Case Study:
Client: American doctor who was "sponsoring" a waitress on St. 51 $2,000/month was worried she was still smoking methamphetamine and still going with (paying) customers.
Results: After hiring us, within just one day of investigation we confirmed 1) the subject was still smoking drugs by her own admission and 2) she would have gladly gone back to our investigator's "hotel room" for sex for just $20.
Furthermore, the subject unapologetically admitted she had several sponsors, including a Belgian who was giving her $1,000/month (in addition to the $2,000 she was receiving from the American).
Case Study:
Client: Italian national who was "sponsoring" a Khmer woman who had previously worked as a freelancer out of two well-known clubs in Phnom Penh. Client wanted to verify his girlfriend was not "working" at either club any more.
Results: Within just one day of investigation we confirmed his girlfriend was still working in the clubs as a freelance prostitute and was willing to return to tourists' hotel rooms for compensation.
Furthermore, the young woman freely admitted that she had seven foreign sponsors, including one in Italy, two in Japan, one in France, etc.
Case Study:
Client: Canadian national sponsoring a young Khmer waitress at a well-known bar/restaurant on the riverfront was worried she might have another boyfriend due to her sporadic answering of his phone calls and emails.
Results: Our investigation revealed the waitress was now living with her new barang (expat) boyfriend at his apartment in Phnom Penh.
Case Study:
Client: Australian national was sponsoring a young Khmer lady $500/month to stay out of her previous employer, a notorious bar on St. 104. Client noticed it was very difficult to reach her by phone at night time (Cambodian local time) and was worried she might be working in the bar again.
Results: Not only was his girlfriend still working at her previous employer's bar on St. 104, but over the first week of our investigation she was actually at the beach in Sihanoukville with yet ANOTHER "sponsor".
Upon her return to the girlie bar on St. 104 on the following week, she even showed our investigator photos of her beach vacation with her other "boyfriend"!

That PP Investigations service sounds like an excuse to be paid to drink and whore around girlie bars at some other mug's expense.

Final proof, if it were ever needed, that Western punters are gullible and stupid whilst Khmer hookers are greedy and stupid.Case Study:

Thank you for those leads.
This person is not a bar girl nor a cashier, I doubt they have ever worked in a bar and certainly not from the era in which I have the contact details. They do not need to be investigated or followed merely located and I will put the necessary people in contact with the person when located. A Khmer would be preferable to a barang. No need to look in hostess bars or at the Walkabout.
I cannot understand the obsession with bargirls, etc and sponsored Khmer girls, this is just a simple case of ascertaining if the person is at the same address and if not where they can be located now.

If you believe it is true and not leveraging a cliche to scare dozy westerners out if their cash when they're back home.
I don't deny it happens, but each of those case studies fail to ring completely true.

I suppose a good bet would be to find a somewhat worldly, bilingual ex-cop, or someone who has related bureaucratic/legal connections who you'd offer a time-worthy price. Be prepared for the long haul. Obvious?, maybe. Wish I could help more.
See you in Hell
