Bodyguards
Where can I hire a couple of bodyguards in PP?---Not sleepy-head hotel guards, or even jewelry store Ak-47 guys. Freelance or through some private company.
I'm looking for a couple of relatively fit, intimidating Barang or Khmer guys with a few skills for 24 hr and/or on call assistance, not necessarily armed. I don't want them to look totally obvious either. Potential opponents will Nigerian and or Khmer thugs.
Any ballpark figures of rates?
Any info appreciated. PM is fine.

See you in Hell
Haha, is this a serious request?
Obviously your requirements depend on the circumstances and threat level assessment, but below is a basic breakdown.
For an experienced, qualified, expat Close Protection Officer you will be looking at a minimum rate of $500 per day. Add to that the the SAT, SET and CAT team members and you are looking at a (bare) minimum daily rate of $3000. Foreigners are not permitted to carry weapons (unless authorised ie. Diplomatic Protection Squad) in the line of CP work in ASEAN countries, therefore you would want a bare minimum of 2-3 CPO's.
Believe me, bodyguarding is nothing like what you saw on the movie.
To be honest, it sounds more like you want a couple of thugs to fight your battles for you...but if you are legitimate then feel free to PM for more advice.

The problem with supplying bodyguards is that it often gives people the idea that they can act like dicks. It's just not worth the effort.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
This is too true!Lucky Lucan wrote:The problem with supplying bodyguards is that it often gives people the idea that they can act like dicks. It's just not worth the effort.

And requests for bodyguard services bring out all the walter mitty wannabe numpty clowns...
(This is a serious reply to the OPs request from another forum)I'll do it. But you'll need to buy a few things, to include two ball-and-socket nunchucks, wooden, and they need to be beveled. ; two wooden kendo swords, lacquered.
There'll be a weekly subscription fee and a per occurrence trip fee (with guaranteed 10 minute arrival). I don't do negotiations. I show up and it's a garden variety exfil. I can provide references on several continents. PM me if serious.

Personally, I'd hire these:

Is he the guy who walks around like he's part of a CP team? Drove down 136 maybe two weeks ago early evening and saw a weird semi-fat middle-aged foreigner wearing ballistic eyewear, dressed in black (tactical shirt and cargo pants) and wearing black Swats. The scene was so unreal I had to have another look as I drove past him and noticed he also had a knife (or Leatherman/gerber, I forget) attached to the back of his belt... He walked into one of those bars. Funny as hell. Is he part of a new barang police on 136 or something? Worried about shrapnel? Ultimate wardrobe malfunction. I haven't seen someone trying so hard since watching new recruits go on leave.Kuz wrote:Ask for Ben at Skippy's bar 136 St, he's freelance.
Drinks there in the afternoon if he is not on a job.

Ben sounds like a hoot. Who would hire someone with no fashion sense? As for the quote of 500 to 3000 a day but no guns- terrible value that. Plenty of Khmers with guns who work for bugger all, Blackwater has a lot to answer for in ripping off the taxpayer.
Or contact **** the builder in Kampot, he claims to have trained HE's bodyguardsKuz wrote:Ask for Ben at Skippy's bar 136 St, he's freelance.

How much would it be for one or two Khmer bodyguards with guns/no guns for half a day to move a bigger amount of money between bank and casino? More important, how sure is it that they or their friends won't rob one then, knowing exactly about the money in the suitcase?
