Was it new as would be covered by warranty and NI will just send a replacement
Did it ever work ?

Thanks for replying.
They said they checked it is turned on.
But I imported it then pluged USB cable, it is not turned on.
No LED light switched on.
Computer doesn't recognized either...
Thanks. I will try.jm wrote:For relatively simple electronic repairs the guy at Sunsimexco on Sihanouk (aka Akira shop) repair center, upstairs, is competent. Today picked up repaired subwoofer amp, $5.
It's not new, second hand. I bought it from Auction Site in Japan.drwahwah wrote:Was it new as would be covered by warranty and NI will just send a replacement

You are trying to power from USB only and not a power unit ? I would try another cablehideuking wrote: But I imported it then pluged USB cable, it is not turned on.

using windows or Mac?
"There will be a power supply too - it's not essential although it is advisable to use this (not least because there was a high-pitched hum I couldn't get rid of when using just USB power on the test unit provided to us, that disappeared as soon as I plugged the power unit in)."

The S2 needs its own power supply, it uses more power than can be provided by the USB bus. By the sound of your post you're trying to power it on using just a USB cable. That won't work.
If you are using a power supply I'd try changing that first. If it is the actual unit that's broken there's no way in the world I'd try and get it fixed in Cambodia.

Umm.. I use MacBook Air, I think it's OK.
I plugged only USB cable. I used 2 different USB cables, but those are not work.
and I think S2 is able to work only USB power.

I want to try AC-Adapter too, but I cannot find it in here...
maybe I will import that..
Thanks

I found the problem with my S2.
I opened the box. I found USB port has broken.
Behind the USB port on printed-circuit board there are two chip condensers,
but these have come off too.
It's major problem on S2 I think...

Anyone can replace USB port and chip condensers on the PCB???
I have no idea to fix it. have to buy another...

Apparently the S2 can be bus powered. I'd still check with an AC adaptor first.
There have been issues with the S4 & S2's USB ports, but in many of those cases (including in the link you posted) the connector's come straight off and been pushed into the unit. You would have noticed this was an issue without opening the box. I'm not sure where you've got the idea you need condensers (capacitors?) from - looking at this image of the S2's USB connector:
from here, those 2 caps are the only thing you can be talking about and it's crazy if they're missing without the USB port being inside the case. I'll be even more shocked if it's some of the smaller capacitors behind (if it is any of them you're more than likely buggered unless you can get someone competent to test all the ratings on the existing ones).
If it is those big ones, the good news is it should be easy enough to get a repair done here, the soldering is easy enough and the parts are cheap. You'll need to order from overseas though, the capacitors used aren't very common. They're made by these guys, part of their CK series. 100 µF, 50V. You'll need to find a supplier. USB ports are easy to come by.
I'd make damned sure you definitely know what the problem is first - you'll find someone competent at soldering here easy enough, but I wouldn't expect them to be great at diagnosing issues with more esoteric electronics.

Sorry my English is too poor to explain.
This is my board.
I mentioned the C323 and C324 small chip condensers on the board.
When I connect USB cable, the USB port slide to behind like this.
I think USB port make those small condensers came off.
If those small condensers are not necessary I replace only the USB connector.

Just PM Playboy, I think he has a set of DJ shit gathering dust in the garage that he'd be willing to pawn off, free of charge.
Hello guys I have the same problem with my S2 MK2 Someone here knows the specific measurement of the capacitors behind the USB port, apparently, the same thing happened to me and one of them broke.
