My understanding is that each couple got paid $8,000 per episode, but I think they would have had the visas or at least been well into the application process before being picked for the show. There was online chatter that Danielle was asking on social media for a co-sponsor for Mohammed.
What a train wreck that relationship was.
You only need to meet 125% of the poverty guidelines to satisfy the income requirements for a K-1 visa. That means that for a family of 2, you need to may $19,912 a year.
In the limited inquiry I've done online in the last five minutes, I've read conflicting info about whether you can just prove your ability to support the fiancee with liquid assets if you are not working. I also read something that says that they check the income requirement at the end of the application process.
The OP could conceivably start the process now and then go back to the US after the child is born and resume working.
I think if I were the OP, I would start the process sooner rather than later, with the plan being to get the application underway and have the wife collecting the documents and jumping through hoops before she is too pregnant , have the child born in Cambodia where the wife can be surrounded by family, etc., then the OP does the paperwork immediately after birth to get the baby a passport, then the OP goes back to America a few months after the child is born and starts working and waits for the visa to be issued, then the visa is issued and the fiancee (and baby) move to the US up to six months later.
