Living near Royal University of Phnom Penh
If one was to want to live within walking distance of Royal University of Phnom Penh, where would one look for a cheap apartment? Can you name the neighborhood and link it on a map? Thanks.

Really?
That's out in Santhor Mok, isn't it? I lived out there for almost 2 years. At that time, the rents were a fraction of those in my previous neighborhood, BKK.
Let me Google that for you

Bet Lok Song (Monk's Hospital), Psah Samaki (Solidarity Market), parts of Tuol Kork are all within walking distance of RUPP.

On the map I posted, if you look a few blocks east and towards the south of RUPP, you'll see Santhor Mok Primary School. I was in that neighborhood, just west of the primary school. I had a huge, 4 bedroom flat with a massive balcony, for which I paid $100 per month. Low traffic, a decent supermarket was nearby and all of the shops I needed were within a short walking distance. What spoiled the place for me, was our neighbor's pack of constantly barking hounds.nightmare.believer wrote: Can you name the neighborhood and link it on a map? Thanks.
I used to pop over to the RUPP campus whenever I needed a relatively quiet chill out space with some greenery about, in which to walk. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the trees have been stripped out by now.
My house was on the left, through the blue tiled entry gate. Here:

Thanks for the replies. So, would you say there're a lot of cheap rooms in that area? In the <$200 range?

I couldn't tell you. I left that neighborhood in early 2007.
The building belonged to a relative and I wasn't paying market rates
