I recently acquired a 600m2 plot near the center of kampong cham. Just clearing the land now but the place is full of those god dam red ants and I just had them rain on me while cutting down a tree.
Will removing most trees and fill the land a bit be sufficient or should i take some more direct action?
I don't wan't to have to keep dealing with them after construction begins.
Getting rid of the large red ants
Ask some Khmer kids to catch the ants with a plastic bag, than u go fried the ants with paenuts or a sauce. Al's in the soup are the ants delicious . in many Khmer dishes are ants.

Those are probably weaver ants and getting rid of most of the trees should cut down their numbers significantly. They are generally considered beneficial, since they protect the trees they live on from many other pests.
I've had the pleasure of having them rain down on me a few times, while burning leaves under the trees they are living in. Aggressive bastards and their bites can be quite painful. At least they are slow.
