I was taking the p*ss a bit with the thread title!
So the UK has lots of twtchers and the US loads of tweakers. Say's a lot about the respective cultures
@Hanno yes PP

Actually, there are no twitchers in Cambodia. Twitchers are typically British and will do anything to increase their life/year list. They hear of a Small-titted Bum-babler on the Scilly isles and will charter a helicopter to add it to their "tick" list.PSD_Kiwi wrote:Is a "Twitcher" a bird watcher? Anyway, saw this posted on FB, thought it might interest the "twitchers"...
Not sure what's going on, whether they've captured it, or it's injured?
The picture is an old one but I saw that it popped up again. Himalayan Griffon that is now at the wildlife rescue center near PP I think.

It is effing disgusting. Common Hoopoes are resident in Cambodia and still fairly common but do not make good cage birds. The ones in your pictures look like they will not last much longer.

My mate just had this land on his washing in downtown Phnom Penh, a hornbill, right?
Likely escaped from an aviary than got lost on his way down from the Cardomoms.

Great Hornbill. Escaped Bird for sure. Probably will be wiped out in Cambodia soon as they need large, mature trees to nest. The sort of trees that are disappearing at an astonishing rate.
