Beer Lao IMO, there's not much difference between the Cambodian lot, but I prefer Cambodia. Kingdom Pilsner in the bottle is my favorite non-dark beer made here, but it's kinda expensive.

On the subject of beer, does anyone know the difference between the Anchor made in Singapore, vs the Anchor made in Cambodia?

I think I find Cambodia the lightest and smoothest of the domestic ones. Used to prefer Anchor over Angkor. Seems to be a bit wheatier?! They are all pretty similar i think. The lightest available would probably be Budweiser?

Bud is rice beer. The Czech Budweiser is excellent BTW.

If you mean which beer has the least foul taste and can be drunk all day long like it's water, the answer is Anchor.

Chinese market Tsing Tao is ~3%, a little sweet and smooth. Export market is 5%, I've seen both around town.

I say this again, if General Asian Lager (GAL) is forced upon us, why in god's name cant Cambrew et al make a low-carb version of their already shitty product/s.
If cold, wet, fizzy and drunk is what you want - you can clearly achieve the same with a low-carb varietal.
If I'm going to take in all those extra kilojoules, I'd much rather it be through the medium of something worthwhile.

How the Hell does a person successfully go low carb in Cambodia ? It was easy in Barangville. Not so here.

It's all marketing spin. Low carb beer isn't exactly low in carbs.

If it was even 10% lighter in kilojoules i'd still drink it.
GAL is the pits.
